Hello. I am new here in Talking Sober and I have logged in half a year of sober time. Through music I was able to find another avenue of strength to persevere through. One of the songs that really put on sober horse blinders for me is the song Believe by Savatage. It captures you from the beginning, takes you on a journey, and climaxes at the end, which are all suitable metaphors for addiction. I sincerely hope this song helps you and anyone else searching for additional strength in the form of music.

Holy crap. I was out walking at lunch today and your playlist was playing. While listening to Amazing I nearly broke down crying (but it was so cold I feared the tears would freeze and I wouldn’t be able to see to find my way back to work!!). I probably hadn’t heard this song for 20 years but I used to listen to that album ALL THE TIME. I clearly never really heard the lyrics before. Wow. This is probably going to become my Ally McBeal “theme song” now!!
