Making their daily rounds! There is a well traveled desire path behind my yard that these coyotes travel!
I dug this and a few other pictures of birds out of my computer yesterday. I can’t seem to find the RAW versions, forgive the low quality! This was back when I had my Nikon D3100 in my hand everyday! Maybe it’s worth pulling out of storage? I do miss being able to capture moments like this ![]()

Mallorca has a population of wild or feral goats, brought here by humans over 4000 years ago, and lived wild in the mountains since. They’re seen as pests and hunting them is permitted. Which is not much of a sport as they don’t mind humans much. They go about their business and I think they’re pretty.
Hunting goats? Not sure if a very challenging event… Hopefully they become a great goat stew.
My Neighbor breeds goats for meat sales… not sure who the customers are.. I do hear they are tasty. The babies are adorable and couldn’t imagine me having them butchered. With the cost of beef these days.. maybe I should try. Thanks for sharing.
So cool! Are they really mean like ive heard? So majestic i cant wait to get down under and see em with my own eyes
Yeah, that’s also what I would like to know. Are they dangerous, or is it more like coming across a deer here where they’ll normally just get away from you?
No. Not at all mean.
Wallabies (and these are whip-tail, aka pretty face wallabies) are slightly smaller than kangaroos and a bit better natured. The really big male grey or red kangaroos are the more cranky ones but in general none are out to really hurt you. Most times any agro is because humans are getting in the way.
They will generally scatter when humans arrive, but the wallabies around our property are very chill as they are not harassed in any way. They are really lovely to have around, and to watch new generations come through and enjoy their life.
One of the many coyotes that travel behind my house on a daily basis. They are very active right before and during dusk! ![]()
Whats their name?
We had one that returned to the same area for 5-10 years or so. We named it Oscar.
Roger the peacock, who turned up randomly and decided our house was his home, under inspection from one of our cats.
New Mexico’s state bird, the greater roadrunner! Spotted in Albuquerque, this one was highly efficient at waiting for lulls in traffic before it tried crossing the road!
Hilarious I love those.
