1st. Top gun
2nd. 16 candles anything with Molly Ringwald
3rd. Aliens

I enjoy so many different genres but a good 80’s B movie has to be the best.

The Shining is my favorite movie of all time, but even though it’s technically an 80’s movie (barely, 1980), it doesn’t “feel” like an 80s movie so I won’t include it.

Pretty In Pink
Predator
Fast Times at Ridgemont High

Honorable mentions: Amadeus, Scarface, Labyrinth, Pee Wee’s Big Adventure, The Dead Zone

What The Shining is for @TMAC, is the Blues Brothers for me. So mine are:

Full Metal Jacket
Airplane!
Do The Right Thing

Three is too few. Some more:

Scarface
The Untouchables
Platoon
Die Hard
Repo Man
To Live and Die in LA
Koyaanisquatsi
Robocop
Back To The Future
Who Framed Roger Rabbit?

Damned I loved movies in the 80’s!

I hadn’t seen Airplane! until like a year ago. Pissed myself at that one.

Same here. It really was a high point for movies…90s too. I feel like we don’t get those massive “blockbusters” anymore in the same sense as what they were back then, these huge cultural phenomenons. I also can’t stand how a lot of movies are 90% CGI/green screen now. I feel like everything is Marvel or a half-rate remake. Of course I’m speaking in generalizations and there are exceptions, but there’s a real lack of originality in filmmaking now.

The last “fake” movie I enjoyed was Lord of the Rings…good acting. But you’re right.
