So glad to be out hiking in Flagstaff. @nb2020 @Clarity Starting slow and easy so the old bones and muscles don’t scream at me later.
Continental Trail at Campbell Mesa Flagstaff AZ.
View of Mount Eldon.
Beautiful:) Stay active, it keeps you young. I actually started logging in some miles over the weekend. Super proud of myself. I run. Running for me is an escape. I do some of my best thinking and praying when it’s just me and the road. Enjoy your hikes, be careful, and have a wonderful week:)
Wow! That is beautiful!! Flagstaff does sound amazing. 2 miles is the perfect distance in my opinion! You are inspiring me to go do a hike. We have the beautiful Red Rock Canyon here in Vegas, maybe I will go this week. Keep up the good work! Grand Canyon soon? You can bike around the Canyon too which is fun!
I do enjoy getting some good hiking in. I am a little limited because I have the kids, but a couple miles here and there is good for the soul for sure.
I try and do about 10k each day, much easier to get out and about when you have a dog who needs walked! I live in Glasgow though so the weather can often dampen the spirits.
Try and get up to the highlands when I can for the mountains and lochs but I don’t drive so need to arrange a chauffeur
Oh wow that’s impressive! Even with a dog. I did manage about 4 miles a day at one point, plus longer walks at weekends. While I was working too… No real excuse now!! Although am hoping we will have a dog again soon, it is good motivation I can walk a reasonable distance it’s the consistency I struggle with
He’s a border collie. Getting on a bit now so doesn’t tend to come on the longer walks up north as much but he’s quite happy out for a few hours at a time
Hiking again in Flag today to get away from it all. . Went up to Observatory Mesa.
Not much wow factor when we got to the mesa but still a nice hike. You can see the San Francisco Peaks through the pines. Beautiful day.
Back up Pen Y Fan in South Wales yesterday.
Unofficial Fan Dance as it’s been cancelled.
15 miles up over the summit, down the other side and back.
4.10 hours.
So not really a hike but still great fun.
We live in a small town which is on the edge of a lot of farmland - so most of the walks and footpaths are through fields. But very lucky to have some remnants of woodland areas to wander through.
So beautiful. 15 miles you put me to shame. Great hike you got there. I so love love pics of the British countryside. Am I using that right? “British” that covers Wales and England right. The more pics of your lovely countryside the better. It just seems so therapeutic to me. And I miss it so. You too @siand going to read about your neck of the woods later. I love a British foot path.
No foliage yet.
Couldn’t find the cabin.
Couldn’t find either Viet Springs or Canadian Springs.
But since we live here now we can come back. But we did find a nice Pando or spread of aspen trees that we can check out next week.
Britain is England, Scotland and Wales. UK is Britain and Northern Ireland.
Some British footpaths are really well marked and accessible, some are a bit more mysterious and you can end up randomly wandering around fields (the farmers don’t really like that )
