I got The Hobbit as a free download on Audible so I’m listening to that on my dog walks. I am not a fantasy fan but I thought I’d give a classic a try. I’m only 1 hour into it but I’m enjoying it. It’s light and fun so far.

Josef Škvorecký: The cowards
Easy to read, exciting book about a young bloke in the last days of the II. world war. Just partly about the war, mainly about jazz, chicks and life. Really good so far.

Thank you! So I started to try to read it about a year or so ago and it was a little confusing to me. I also bought The Power of Now at the same time and read that this book is a little easier to grasp. I’ve read that book a few times now and listened to podcasts that go over it and it was a great introductionto his concept…I am LOVING A New Earth so far! It’s so calming to my mind and feels so freeing.

I’ll check out the thread, I’m pretty sure I’ve kept up on it and thought about you when I started New Earth  I’ll post on there soon!

I had a similar experience, when I first tried to read The Power of Now. I found it difficult and confusing to read actually, but I persevered, and it wasn’t until a year or so later that I came back to it and read it again (after watching a bunch of YouTube videos of Eckhart speaking, and reading other Buddhist literature) and it finally started making sense and resonating deeply. Having a friend who’d read it too made a big difference because we’d talk about it together and share our understandings  Then A New Earth came into my life and Wow! At that time, I was ready to read it! I couldn’t put it down. I’ve read it again since too. That was about 2 years ago now. Only last week, I picked up The Power of Now again, and I’m currently re-reading, mostly because I find I forget and become caught up again in worries fears and anxiety - my ego always creeps back in. Actually, that’s one of the reasons I love this forum so much, it helps keep my ego in check :raised_hands: On Oprah’s SuperSoul Sunday podcast, she does 10 episodes with Eckhart where they talk about each chapter of the book - it’s amazing!

I’ve never read anything from Eckhart Tolle, but am going to start. Which of his books would you recommend reading first? Glad there are so many podcasts/youtube clips to go with this books. Thanks in advance.
