Yo, the movie was super creepy and (I thought) very well done. I feel like the book would be too much. Lol
mcCarthy has such a unique style and voice. The Road was one of my favorite non fantasy books I’ve read. I should get back to him at some point.
I agree, the stories are powerful and his style is unique, I won’t be forgetting them anytime soon. ![]()
I’m reading change your brain change your life. It’s very informative. I also listen to audio books too, I have a bunch of books
I’ve got two on the go right now.
- The Outsider by Stephen King (audiobook for my walks with the puppers)
- The glass Hotel by Emily St John Mandel as my bedtime reading.
How is the Glass Hotel? I seriously loved her novel, Into the Forest.
As for currently reading…
Just got this book and after a quick skim can tell it is going to be really helpful for me.
I’ve been going pretty slow through it. It started out slow but it’s picking up now.
It is very enlightening.
Omg, I totally suggested the wrong book…I meant The Night Circus. Lol
That looks like a good book I’m gonna look it up? How is it so far what’s is about. I like history and that kinda stuff the book seems like it’s right up my alley
I loved this book… it was a great escape!
I think you would like it @eph-M-eral … She writes with such beautiful imagery.. and so do you!
Oooh just looked this one up! It looks sooo good! I think this is my next read.
Love McCarthy’s voice and style as well - the Border Trilogy, No Country for Old Men, The Road… Wish he still was writing but isn’t he close to 90 now? Maybe I’ll go back and read Blood Meridian
I had no idea he was that old. Damn.
I wish more writers took the types of risks he took with their style and voice.
