New book time. Its the 2nd installation of the court series. I highly recommend them if you are a twighlight fan
I adore your pups also fantastic book list. I’ve read most and they are keepers. I’m onto my next don Miguel ruiz- the fifth agreement. The fourth was a keeper too. One of those books that was so good you want to pass it on to others
Hi April, @apes2020 I love to read. All these books are fantastic. You will enjoy The Fifth Agreement, a great read. The problem I’m having nowadays is finding enough time. If I could just figure out how to squeeze 30 hours into 24 it would help. lol The pups are a friend of mine and he brings them by quite often to babysit me. Always look forward to them coming over. No matter what’s going on in my day it always places me in a great frame of mind when they’re around.
Have a beautiful day in recovery my friend and thank you for reaching out.
Currently I’m reading:
A Better Man by Louise Penny (I just LOVE the Gamache novels)
and
Women Talking by Miriam Toewes
But this week I will also be starting Indian Horse by Richard Wagamese. (My daughter is reading for school and I promised to read with her to help her stay on top of reading)
This is really interesting. The ‘flatness’ referred to in the title relates to a one dimensionally way of thinking, the trappings of ideology. The process of 'unflattening’is a broadening of ones perspectives and the importance of critical thought.
It’s really well illustrated.
I just finished American Dirt. I wasn’t sure if I would read this one because of the controversy associated with it but I did enjoy it.
13 things mentally strong people don’t do. By Amy Morin
Maybe like with everything. It’s always there but takes time to sink in. I can understand things better now.
i think @Hailstrom posted her book the memory police which i picked up and absolutely loved. got this as well as another by her and just starting now. so thank you for turning me on to her work!!
I love to read, and it is my main sober salvation.
This is a unique true crime book, but very interesting.IMG_20210516_085709|375x500
I’m also working through this series, on “How the Light Gets In”. Soooo good!
They are my favourite. Every book becomes my new favourite.
Nice one! Please check back in with your thoughts when you’re done I’ve not read another other books of hers.
Russell Brand’s book on recovery finally came so I started that today…read the first 2 chapters and so far it’s awesome.
It’s a good one. That’s one of her early books. Check out Daring Greatly and Rising Strong next
Enjoy it. xxx
I read Daring Greatly and loved it! … but that was oh man, 7 or 8 years ago? Where does the time go! So many nonfiction books I wish I had held on to. Thats what I am going to do from no on, just have a life-long nonfiction collection of gems.
