A New Pair of Glasses by Chuck C.
Can’t Hurt Me - David Goggins
Alk - Simon Borowiak
Such A Fun Age is one of my faves.
Love Carl! Glad to see him back. It’s been awhile.
Just got done with dying for a drink. Its pretty good overall, gets into both perspectives of alcoholism. That is being sober and dealing with individuals with problems; and vice versa.
It also reiterated at what stage I’m in which is the last. Its go time if there ever was one. I recommend it.
I’m about to start a handbook for the treatment of alcoholism/addiction. Will report back. Take care everyone.
Is it any good? Looks interesting
i really enjoyed the writing. its a short and quick read. the story gets a lot darker than id expected, and certain aspects of the struggles of the main character hit real close to home regarding someone i know and that kinda frightened me a bit.
In my other life, I’m an author with 18 books and a made-for-TV movie to my name so I read a lot for fun and to hone my skills. I’ll read anything by Lisa Jewell, and a million others that I won’t take up space with now. I highly recommend NOTHING TO SEE HERE for fun distraction. As for classics, JANE EYRE still stands out as my all-time fave. I couldn’t begin to tackle sobriety without books and audiobooks. This fall a lot of big hitters are coming out since NY publishers delayed their release due to the pandemic.
“The Subtle Art of Not Giving a F*ck” by Mark Manson
&
“The Four Agreements” by Don Miguel Ruiz
These have LEGIT been a saving grace & biblical for me on my journey of recovery!
Just started “From the Brink of the Drink.” Wow! I can’t put it down!
Sounds like an excellent recommendation. I’ll check it out, thanks
Just started “Providence” by Max Barry, I’m really enjoying the writing style so far. Pretty decent piece of suspenseful sci fi
Been a while since I posted in this thread…This morning I started The Splendid and The Vile by Erik Larson. So far it’s very good.
Just starting Monogamy by Sue Miller and Good Vibes, Good Life by Vex King.
Just finished The Silent Patient. SO good! Next is The Institute by Stephen King! Forgot how much I liked reading
I loved both. Gripping!
