I got a loud early morning visit this morning by the whole crew!
6.45am! My neighbors were not impressed I’m assuming coz they were so loud!

The coolest thing just happened…
I was on my walk back from the lake and the block away from mine, the cockatoos were running a muck in the trees and on the light poles at the traffic lights… So I stood there in the distance and did my special whistle that I do that calls them , to see if they would recognize me out of my apartment, and they did, they followed me home! I got back up stairs and they were there waiting for me!!
I ran outta food for them so they just drank some water…
I’m on the way to do a grocery run now so il stock up on apples and almonds for them again

So I just went out on my morning lake walk and I did an experiment. I filled my pockets with almonds and on a section of the lake the cockatoos generally hang out really early at sunrise, so I went to see if they would respond to my special wolf whistle I do to call them… THEY LISTENED!!!
It took a mintue but once one of them flew down to me, the rest followed…
I sat on the floor on the park and they jumped right up onto my lap while I fed them almonds!
I then stood up to try to train them to fly up onto my arms and shoulder and I’d reward them with an almond… It worked!!!
I’m blown away this all happened instantly and they were behaving like they had been doing this with my for years!
Then whilst they surrounded my feet in the dozen at this point, they begun to eat the almonds faster than I could hand them out and the ones on my arm would bite my hand when it had finished its almond as if to say “moreeeeee bit%&!!!”
I ran out of almonds and said my goodbyes
I didn’t take my phone coz I like quiet time on my morning walks , so I couldn’t take photos. I will take my phone tomorrow. It was a moment that needed to be documented in photos
