Baby birdies thread ❤ And the cockatoo crew ❤

OK so I was feeling active today so I decided to go back out for another walk to the lake. This time I brought the whole bag of almonds…

And here is a twist… I made friends with a crow. A crow!!! :joy: .

It was surprisingly completly call and sat and hung out with me eating from my hand.

I taught it how to break the almond so it was easier to eat.

It sat right next to my shoulder for like 20 mins.

Then when I got to the other side of the lake , it had flown over there and met me again, with its partner this time

After it had eaten a lot, it begun taking the broken almonds from my hand but it didn’t swallow them, it packed its mouth full and when I said “OK bye now I gotta go” it flew off back to its nest to take the almonds there coz I think it has babies to feed

It was so smart and sweet and gentle with me!!

Making friends with a crow. Who would of thought :joy:

Then my babies found me!! :joy:

How cool are the photos of them flying up to me when they first spot me

Its really hard to hold my phone up to take pics when there on my arms and shoulders. But I got some cool shots on the ground with them

See in the last few photos , the special guest appearance by the lil cutie with the pinky orangey face!? I’ve never seen him before!! There was only in the group. He must be a cousin of there’s :joy:

Over all, i think I’ve had a pretty successful morning! :tada: oh and I walked 13k steps as well so its a bonus I got my fitness in for the day :tada:

The special guest cutie had a differnt beak. It was much longer and it curled over more.

It was so interesting watching it get curious about me. It was very shy and it wouldn’t eat from my hand , I had to throw the almonds to it.

I will do some research and find out what breed of cockatoo it is.

See how he is holding the almond under his foot? This is when we first met, on the first side of the lake… It took me about 30 mins to walk to the other side of the lake, and he was there to meet me again

MAYHEM :joy:

it took 24 hours for them to spread the word that almonds are back in stock.

After the park play session, they came to my apartment two more times in the late after noon.

I counted 14 of them on my window at one point :joy:

Im guessing my neighbours are not loving the LOUD noises they make :joy:

You know what’s amazing, all the months they have been hanging out with me, they have not once popped on my window!!

When I had baby here, it popped all the time lol :joy:

 Wow! There are a lot of them. Word spread quickly. That’s very respectful of them not to poop on your window. The old saying applies… they don’t shit where they eat.

Hey April. Sorry to crash your birdies thread but i definitely thought of you here.
Volume up.

It’s 2 plus minutes long and nothing happens at the end. So you can stop listening to it when you’ve had enough.
:pray:t2::heart::joy:

This morning I tried an experiment.

The whole crew turned up at 7am. I decided to go down stairs to the garden instead of feeding them from my window.

I wanted to see if they would fly onto my arms.

It worked. They were sitting on my shoulders and arms in a few mintues :joy:

I think from now on, when they turn up , I’ll just walk down to my garden and hang with them there. Less almond mess on my window for me to clean :joy:

Then I went across the road to the lake, and it wasn’t long till they flew over and met me there.

They were so confident with there step ups that at one point I had one on each arm and one on my head lol :joy:

I had my beenie on my head so u was worried that its claws would get stuck in the beenie , so I shut that down quick smart

The crow was also there in a minute as soon as I got to the spot where we met… I tried to train it to step up onto my arm, it was almost there, then a dog walked past and it got a fright and flew off.

I give it a few days and I think il have the crow sitting on my arm
