I’m glad you pointed out how Mr Floof’s feathers fluff up around his beak. I wouldn’t have noticed it on my own. I see it now and it’s really cool. Classical music definitely makes him a relaxed lil fella. Have you tried heavy metal? Don’t…it may scare the crap out of him.
Believe it or not that does kinda already happen LOL
When ever I finish feeding the floofs at my window, they know the routine now, I say “Park time” “let’s go park” … and I go down stairs while they wait outside for me and as I walk across the road to the lake park, they all fly follow me, landing on the light poles and intersection street signs , waiting for me and keeping up and when I cross the actually road they all swoop down flying next to me cos they know it’s park time.
Oh Wow! April, that painting is divine!! Can you afford it? How much is it?
The new birds-are they Corellas by chance?
Loved your park story about the birds!
They obviously trust and love you a lot - l am green with envy!
I just love birds
It was in a cafe. I don’t think it’s for sale. But I’m thinking of finding out who painted it, I think they are a local. And I might see if it doesn’t cost the earth, see I I can get one for my impending house move soonish.
Yes,great idea! I reread your text and realised it was just on the wall in the cafe, not for sale. It kinda looks like someone local-not like an international artist is gonna be in a hurry to paint a coupl’a cockies on a bunch o’ crates! So, it might be in your price range, fingers crossed for you!
It is really is very beautiful-l love the colours❤️
Ok April, l’ve done some sleuthing! The artist is Madeleine Simson, a young, Melbourne local who paints a lot of Australian flora and fauna. A painting similar to the one in the cafe sold for $800!!! 🥲
This is a fantastic shot!! I also love the one of his plume when his head is upside down!! So beautiful and regal. You have such a lovely relationship with them!!
Hmmmm…I am beginning to wonder if there is a side gig here for you? Homing pigeons? Homing cockatoos? I read the pigeons are sometimes still used for disasters. Idk just popped into my head as you obviously have a gift with your crew.
