Addiction. That’s what leads to this behaviour. Though I have never had hard drugs nor experienced psychosis, I highly doubt he wants to show this behaviour. Same as some people chopping off their Johnson during psychosis.
Addiction doesn’t show the real person, it shows the addict who has less or no control over their behaviour. Us addicts are not inherently evil. We didn’t choose addiction, yet we do get blamed for it.
Your reaction is understandable though. And you’ve still got a lot to learn as your only on your seventeenth day. Which is a true accomplishment, but hopefully the very beginning of your journey. And there’s nothing wrong with having to learn. And I don’t blame you. But perhaps try to choose your words more carefully as I doubt it’s your intention to offend someone. But sentences as these do cause harm.
You are wise far beyond your years Jan
Well said
That’s amazing!!!
I would never of thought that birds also blow out cold smoke when it’s so cold, but they do!
So beautiful!!
Thanks for your advice,Jan. I guess l was trying to make light of a potentially scary situation. My first concern was for April and her Bird friends.
It appears l jumped to the conclusion that her neighbour was just being a menace, without thinking or caring about the impact he was having on other tenants.
I can see rereading my post, that some may take offence, even though that was definitely not my intention.
As l have since explained to April, l have been a nurse for over thirty years, so l have cared for my fair share of people with mental illness. I am not a judgemental or ignorant person and have a lot of empathy for people with psychosis, whether it be intrinsic or drug induced.
If l have offended anyone on TS with my comments, l sincerely apologise.
P.S ‘Mann wird alt wie eine Kuh,und lernt immer noch dazu!’ (German proverb translates as- You get to be as old as a cow and you still keep learning)!
Oh goodness, just catching up. Glad you and the floofs are okay. Sad about your neighbor.
Still singing his little heart out!
Oh my gosh that is such a good drawing! You know someone who did that?
They are very talented!!
Good news…
The broken dangerous hanging window above has been removed.
The floof feeding has now resumed
Yay.
Mr. Floof looks thrilled!!!
He was here bright and early at 6am LOL happy floofy
I was pretty stressed about the hanging broken window… I woke up this morning and over night it had been removed. I must of been so tired i didn’t hear a thing last night
Glad to see the cockatoo cafe has resumed normal business hours. Happy eating Mr. Floof!
@SassyRocks is right! Mr Floof looks bright eyed and bushy tailed, and ready for mischief! l love Lisa’s name for your apartment-the ‘Cockatoo Cafe’! (patent it before someone else does, Apes!)
So happy for you that the window is gone!
Thanks for the pics! They are sure to lift up many souls on TS today
Mr Crow never ceases to amaze me.
After it rained, he took his bread to the puddle to dip it in the water to soften it so it’s easier to eat.
Such a clever boy
Yesterday I had to leave for work at 2pm. So normally I will give the pigeons and mynas a feed and water change at about 6pm. So there is something In the bowl over night for when they wake at sunrise.
Yesterday I last feed them at 2pm.
When I got up this morning at 7am they were manic waiting for me to feed them!!
They are very reliant on my feeding them now.
How on earth am I ever going to be able to move from here now LOL
I stumbled across these cute bookends yesterday!
They are $60.
They combine two of my favourite things, books and cockatoos
Cute
But I am currently on a no spending streak
Surely you don’t believe the birds will allow you to move!!! They will poo all over anyone carrying a box out!
Lmao
Or it will be like a scene straight out of Alfred Hitchcocka film, the birds
I have a sense that Mr Crow will be the orchestra LOL
