Baby birdies thread ❤ And the cockatoo crew ❤

This morning I did want to have a lay in because its my day off work , but it was soooooo hot last night in my room that I had the worst nights sleep ever.

I literally got up at 2am and had a completely cold shower and laid back down in bed with wet hair hoping it would cool me down .

I don’t have air conditioning and I do have a fan and air cooler, the ones you put water into and it blows air out, you know those big white noise machines lol… well it’s so hot from the last few days in my room that it’s unbearable. Can’t sleep!

And I just looked at the weather, the next 3 or 4 days are going to be 30 to 34 degrees days again!!!

Ughhhhh !!!

I’m thinking of going and staying in a hotel for three days in air conditioning to ride out this heat wave lol

Does your new place have air conditioning?

No but I getting it installed. It won’t be ready any time soon though. I need to get permits approved first. :weary:

It isn’t as hot as this place now though. It is a ground floor place, no direct full on sun hitting it.

This apartment I’m in now has direct sun cooking it from sunrise till sunset. I’m right in the sun’s path lol . Nightmare!

Oh @apes2020! You poor love! :weary:

It has been so consistently hot over the last couple of weeks, but it’s especially hard when it stays in the 20C s overnight!

Just trying to think what got me through when l lived in a west facing 1st floor apartment before l built my own home.

If you have an old top sheet or even a sarong-wet it with enough cold water for it to be damp but not saturated, and drape that over yourself with the fan blowing on you.

Not sure what sort of Air Con unit you have, but it sounds like it’s evaporative? Can you substitute iced water instead of plain water in the tray to give it more oomph? I would buy a bag of ice and then throw in half ice, half water.

Hope that’s been helpful!

Just think-only another couple of weeks and you’ll be in your new place! BTW, does it have A/C?!

That type

Good idea using actually cold water in it. I was filling it with normal tap water !

Only ten nights left here thank gosh.

No ac in new place yet. I’m getting it installed. But I need permits first. It’s a big Job.

I think I might go stay in a hotel till Thursday when the heat wave looks to be going away.

I need my sleep lol

Yeah, that looks a lot like the unit l borrowed from a neighbour (who had the real deal A/C installed in her apartment).
She gave me the tip about the ice when she leant it to me. It does make a difference!

Don’t you hate all the hoo ha you have to go through when you just want some basic creature comforts?!

Ceiling fans/ A/C should be standard in all newer units/apartments here l reckon.

I used to see people with similar fans at Disney.

Ice on the wrists at night can help. Cold tub too. Hope the new place is much cooler for you!!

As I suspected, I was correct. The neighbour has a pet cockatoo. Like a full time one. Not visiting one like I had. An actual screaming full time cockatoo.

It’s 9pm. I Just got into bed. And I can hear the cockatoo going nuts. Screaming.

I am finding this high assuming that the universe Is fucking with me In a funny way. A fun way.

What are the odds that the place i move into has a bloody floof living right next door

When ever I’m missing my floofs, I may have to just go over to the neighbours place and ask to meet there floof

Life is magical, isn’t it.

The amazing and perfectly aligned synchronised moments that are so detailed, just blow my mind.

We are so lucky to be living on this beautiful planet
