That’s a very tough situation to be in. How long is this project supposed to go on for?
It ends at the end of February thank God. I have 4 more days on it between now and then.
This is a very tough situation you are in, especially if you are not well grounded in your recovery yet. So give yourself some credit for trying and not giving up on yourself. And also give yourself a break. I doubt anyone could handle that kind of situation unless they‘ve been in recovery for a long time.
I really appreciate that perspective. I remember back in my first 90 days of alcohol sobriety I was battling urges constantly, so I know I have the ability somewhere inside me! It’s too bad junk food is so much more prevalent than alcohol. I will get back to work!

Hey peeps. I shall be lurking here. I might have mentioned this a few years ago but I have had disordered eating since I was 12, body image issues since I was 6. Anorexia that turned to bulimi that as an adult turned into mainly a cycle of binge eating (with no compensation) and restricting. I just received my ADHD diagnosis and its a lot to take in and to start working on so I am not fully ready to focus on my eating and body image just yet. But trying to eat regularly is one thing I have been trying to work on these past few weeks.
Anyway, I will be reading your posts until I dont feel as overwhelmed with the new diagnosis and changes and can participate and work on it as well.
Thank you all for your posts and sharing ![]()
Heya ![]()
I was extremely busy last few days (some emergency at work). Unfortunately that is when Ed always gets me. I struggled big time since Monday and today I had what I’d call “mini binge”. Mini, because it’s far away as bad as it used to be. But hands down - it was binge.
I reseted my beautiful 19 days ![]()

and will start over from now on.
I found out two things
- I can’t have sweets because I binge on them (kinda already knew it)
- Sweets in higher amounts give me acid reflux, IBS, bloating, restlessness and many more unpleasant things
Day 1530 : No binge today. ![]()
Hi, @Jennajen! My ed started around age 12 too, as did my body image issues. Welcome to the thread, I hope you find it helpful/inspiring in a positive way. ![]()

@Jennajen Welcome to the thread Jenna
Read around and join us whenever it strikes you.
@Jana1988 I restarted my counter many times. The good thing is: You obviously learned something about yourself, your reaction to sweets and stressful situations. Well done
Do you have plans how to deal with all that differently in the future?

I relate to this so hard! I can’t eat sweets either for the same reasons. Most of my binges are “mini binges” and I get horrible heartburn if I eat too much. But you made it through Monday and Tuesday, and you know what it feels like to go for a long time and what triggered this! that’s great. I read somewhere that “practicing quitting” increases the odds that you will be successful long term.
That’s a great question and I must come up with something. I’m not sure at the moment. Maybe I need to re-think my rules as I just keep breaking them from whatever reason ![]()
Maybe I should check in here every evening to make myself more accountable and to remember my intentions…
I feel you with the acid reflux, I have the same and it gets very bad! Before I had this nice strike without binging I had it after each food and even drink. Now it settled down when I stopped eating sweets. So I know 100% that sugar is the cause! It’s awful.
Day 1531 : No binge today. ![]()
@Jana1988 Just from my own experience. In the beginning changes I made in my environment were the most helpful ones to establish good habits. For example: No sweets at home makes it easier to stay away from them when cravings strike. The same goes for available food when I expect stressful situations. The food I will grab first will be the most conveniently available. If I have my own prepacked food it will be easier to make good choices.

Hello @acromouse
I think I know what you mean, because I’m having cravings right now, but I don’t have anything sweet here. Unfortunately there are small convenient shops behind the corner and I was even seriously considering hitting them. But it’s rainy and I’m not that desperate ![]()
To be fair, I’m pretty hungry and about to have my dinner. I believe that of I make a decision to have only the dinner I could do it. It will fill me up. It’s easy having cravings when I am hungry now after a long day working.
Thank you for your advice and support
means a lot to me!! ![]()

Day 1532 : No binge today. ![]()
Despite not having any triggering food at home, I managed to binge eat on frozen blueberries and some nuts after my dinner.
What’s satisfying that the binges aren’t as big as they used to be. But maybe satisfying is a strong and incorrect word actually ![]()
Well, I’ll try to make today my new Day 1.
It’s going to be tricky, I have no idea when I get a chance to eat as I’m volunteering at a bike race organised by my cycling club. I’ll do my best to identify any voice in my head which isn’t mine and kick its ass ![]()
I’m feeling bloated but positive hahahahaha ![]()

@Jana1988 Can it be that you are often running hungry before your set meal? Maybe you need to eat more often? There are always healthy snack options available. Just a thought.

With dinner usually yes. I was trying not to snack between meals. Have just a breakfast, lunch and dinner. Yesterday, I was very hungry before I ate the dinner to be honest. Do you think that it’s something what affects binging?
