Hey Daniela, im not doing great emotionally or mentally (well slightly better today than the last couple days). I just wrote on the check in thread about whats going on. I DIDNT mention on there however… how I binge ate practically an entire bag of chips bcuz i was so upset after my husband’s and I’s disagreement, that i didnt make supper, was sooo hungry and ate chips instead for dinner. What a mess. I did reset my timer. I emotionally ate and binge ate.
BUT… that was just a big bump in the road and I will keep at it. The OA meetings help a lot also. But i just cant get on one until Monday.
I am soo happy for u tho
That medication does wonders imo. I was on Ozempic for some time and I can relate about the food noise and emotional eating disappearing. It felt very freeing!!! I hope it continues to help u
When Ozempic becomes generic up here in Canada, Ill probably go back on it (I quit it bcuz of cost). Youve made some big changes lately, and I SUPER impressed at ur progress!!! Hugs!

I just finished my post to you in the other topic. I’ll continue a little
I can understand you took the chips. Sometimes life is so difficult. Especially when so much comes together at the same time. Probably the most annoying thing is that you weren’t satisfied at all after the eating. So sorry life is extremely heavy for you. Take some very deep breaths and start over.
By the way: what is OA?

Thank u for both of ur beautiful posts

They really made me smile and put things into perspective for me. Life is too short to worry about the things that were said in the heat of the moment. I love my son with every fiber of my being and I want to enjoy the journey with him. I think balance needs to be put into play here too. I am not a robot and ur right, i cant do everuthing perfectly day in and day out. Its unrealistic.
To answer ur question: OA meetings (also known as Overeaters Anonymous) is a 12 step program. Based off the same 12 steps of AA, they tweaked the wording to accomodate food issues. It helps those that are powerless over food. They have a website where u can order the books, coins, and find OA meetings at any time of day. I find them really helpful! I just cant attend them on the weekends cuz I work. I can find the website link if ur interested
Here it is:

I am so sorry you had a hurtful situation with your husband and are worried about your son‘s health. Big feelings to process.
I worked with young adults with lower cognitive skills and disabilities. They were amazing people. Full of love. They taught me so much. I know that this can‘t take away the pain. I just wanted to share that I’ve got a huge love for kids like your son.
I KNOW you are a great, excellent, amazing mom. It’s not about perfection, it’s about unconditional love, dedication and giving your best. I know you are giving your best. And I hope, you know that too.
I wish you lots of peaceful moments with your son. Maybe it’s healing when you focus on the connection between you two. This Connection doesn’t come out of nowhere. It’s built over years of tender, loving care.
Sending lots of love

Day 3
So I am following the OA program and part of the program is to develop a plan of eating. They had example plans in their pamphlet and so I chose the high protein/low carb one. Its 3 meals a day and an evening snack. The goal is not eat between meals. And I dont normally eat breakfast, but maybe this needs to change. Maybe my way of doing things is not as helpful as I thought. So here I am currently eating breakfast
Surprisingly, when i put the meal plan into my calorie notebook, it gives me over 100gr of protein, over 30gr of fiber, and is UNDER my usual daily caloric intake. They focus alot on serving sizes and weighing ur food for portion control. Very much like @Jana1988 when you started ur new way of eating with ur therapist, Im going to give this way of eating an honest try. Im really hoping to have just as much success as all of u
This is the sample plan Im using:

Phew… Not sure what happened yesterday. I think I simply took on too much and didn’t notice until it was too late.
After a long, exhausting day, I didn’t have the strength to resist when my daughter sat down next to me on the couch with some chocolate. I didn’t even think about it — I just gave in.
So the keto timer is back to zero.
What’s unsettling is how quickly and intensely my body reacts to sugar. I was restless all night, slept poorly, and my stomach was cramping. A reminder I apparently still needed.
Lesson practiced — once more. Hopefully also lesson learned.
It’s 192 days smoke free, 50 binge free, 1 keto
Have a peaceful day, everyone!

5 weeks and three days mindful eating (mostly). There was one small blip of when my daughter and her friend had a sleep-over. We bought donuts, and I had one, which is fine for me, one sweet treat a day, but we played a board game at around 11pm, and I was tired and they were snacking and I also ate about half a bag of some chocolate soaked wheat things. I wasn’t hiding and didn’t eat all, so not a binge for me, but still it was more than I would have liked. But I just got back on the mindful train (no compensating) and moved on.

A week ago was my first post. I did not binge, didn’t eat chocolate and cookies, ate my meals pretty attentive.
I didn’t delete all sugar, but cut it back much.
Today I ordered Erythritol, not to match the sugar, but to reduce it some more, and still can eat my strawberries (when they come) a bit sweet. I’m going to try to find a balance between enjoying and reduce.
My ‘problem’ now is that I don’t dare to take anything extra.

Day 5
So oddly enough, I actually feel better when I eat breakfast! And i actually dont get hungry as often throughout the day. I ALWAYS hated the thought of that 1st bite of the day, bcuz it would trigger my obsessive thinking for food. I hated that I even had to eat. But the past 2 days I have eaten a balanced breakfast and im generally not that hungry throughout the day anymore.
Mid morning, i had the urge to binge. But instead, I popped onto an OA meeting. It was on Body Image and Relationships. Great mtg! I could really relate. The host is even mailing me out some OA books on Body Image. Cant wait to get them!
I also am speaking to a lady about sponsorship. She happens to live in my province which is fantastic. I have a time set for tomorrow to chat with her.
Things are falling into place i think. My son is going back to school tmrw, so I will be able to get to the gym again as well.
Hope everyone is doing well!
