There are times when I would prefer to be up there on that perch. Then I could just watch the world go by and not participate in it. Thank you for sharing.

Saw a Brahminy Kite (known in Australia as a Red-Backed Sea Eagle) down by the river yesterday.

Tried to get a better photo… this is as best I could get.

The Brahminy Kite is one of the medium-sized raptors (birds of prey), with a white head and breast. The rest of its body is a striking chestnut brown. The very tip of its tail is white. The wings are broad, with dark ‘fingered’ wing tips and the tail is short. The legs are short and not feathered, the eye is dark and the lemon yellow coloured bill is strongly hooked. It sails on level wings along shorelines and mudflats.

The Brahminy Kite is a bird of the coast, particularly mangrove swamps and estuaries. It is sometimes seen over forests and along rivers.

It’s part of their territory and daily routine, moving between grazing grounds and different ponds and canals. Not very safe but cute. View from a window at work.

I think this is a crow? Or maybe something similar. They have been coming around the dumpster/ trees recently at work. Never seen them before till recently. I always try to talk to them. You never know maybe they can hear what I’m saying and understand. I know this is not an oriole or a Bluejay or something but I still think it’s worthy of having its picture taken and being on the bird thread
