Congratulations on your 90 days Blanka!!

Pretty cool ![]()
Heck yeah! 90 days no alcohol – check out them sober guns ![]()
You keep kicking ass my friend and recovering from your surgery. You will kick that vape’s butt in time as well. Much love my friend. Show off them sober muscles ![]()

Little gathering at my place today, my daughter’s 21st Birthday coming this weekend and she visited today
pink champagne (her choice and she asked if Im ok with it), I was enjoying my favourite CBD drink (AF)… absolutely no cravings. We had great time and I loved to see her having only 2 small glasses. There is some champagne still left in the fridge!!! (I bet my friend will take care of it tomorrow). It would be unthinkable 92 days ago, not on my watch LOL.
It feels so good to feel safe around alcohol, I know my sobriety is only fresh but today I realised that living sober is totally possible, doable, enjoyable. xxx Life is good.
My younger kids are 23 and 26, and I’ve never seen either one of them drink or smoke. Funny old world, isn’t it?
Yes! Impressive! When I was their age drinking/smoking was sadly so normal! Almost expected!
It’s Friday night, payday, and I’m getting ready to pay my bills. Looking forward to this opera mashup tomorrow night:
What are you up to this weekend?
Yes LOL payday here as well so I cleared my bills first thing before the money disappears ![]()
For me another weekend home, watching my babies learning to be nice to each other, the little one has too much energy so its getting on big ones nerves. Im so glad I am home now for them, they need so much attention but I see it as an investment… they bring so much happiness into my life and I know they will love each other as well… hopefully soon LOL
Saturday night watching Opera show… sounds amazing xxx
How are you doing? Did you have a good weekend?
How was the opera mashup? @SinceIAwoke
Actually, that opera, I Pagliacci, is emotionally draining to see. It’s about a husband driven mad by jealousy who kills his wife and her lover. The final scene was particularly passionate and powerful - they threw a table over, lots of screaming, very very operatic.
The opera is short, a one act play. It is often paired with Cavalleria Rusticana, another one acter. In this production, they stretched it to two acts by scavenging some music from Cavalleria and using that (no singing in this part) for the live circus performances - an aerialist and hoop artist, a contortionist, and a mime/clown/juggler. Very professional and impressive.
But the opera libretto itself, the story line and dialouge, is quite non-politically correct, very macho, and the character of the leading woman is obviously written by a man who did not understand women. The character is flat, motivated by conflicting desires for stability and sexual adventures. She is portrayed as relying on men who use and abuse her. Very tough to watch, but also well acted and very moving.
The voices were excellent, the theater itself is astounding, very intimate with the seating, and the sound is great. It’s the second opera we’ve seen at that venue, and the third by that opera company. I’m a fan and will attend more of their shows in the future.
Here is Pavarotti singing the critical scene and most famous tune, Vesti La Giubba.
Pavarotti - Vesti La Giubba
The lyrics, and that very last line is the whole plot of the opera.
Put on the costume
Act! While in delirium,
I no longer know what I say,
or what I do!
And yet it’s necessary… make an effort!
Bah! Are you not a man?
You are a clown!Put on your costume, powder your face.
The people pay, and they want to laugh.
And if Harlequin steals your Columbina,
laugh, clown, and everyone will applaud!
Turn your distress and tears into jokes,
your pain and sobbing into a grimace, Ah!Laugh, clown,
at your broken love!
Laugh, clown, at the grief that poisons your heart!
Wow - that sounds powerful to listen to. Glad you were able to enjoy the experience. Sounds like it was an intense time.
I have never seen a Opera myself but it is on my want list.
Thanks for sharing the link and the lyrics.
100 sober AF days!!! I think I am amazing ![]()
Over the last 2 days I have been working hard on my nicotine addiction, I mean reading about it, listening to recordings (thank you Jasmine xxx)
I cant promise anything just yet but I feel like I made a massive progress in understanding it. Surprisingly the Allen Carr’s book ‘EasyWay to quit vaping’ I am just reading works for me. Surprisingly as I never thought it would, I bought it out of feeling of resignation. I am following all the instructions and I can see massive shift in my ways already (after just one day of reading it). Lets see how it goes and where it will take me… I might be very soon nicotine free guys! Fingers crossed ![]()

You think you’re amazing? You don’t know the half of it! If you haven’t already, you will soon get to where sobriety feels normal, and the thought of drinking will be aversive. “We will seldom be interested in liquor. If tempted, we recoil from it as from a hot flame.” (AA Big Book, p. 84).
The amazing part is how much of growth in resiliency, of humility, of trust and of confidence you have shown in the past three months. I am proud of you, proud of your willingness to help others, proud of your demonstration of the ability to tolerate discomfort and pain, proud of the seeking you are doing.
You are lovable and loved, and that is precious!
Time for a happy dance!

Yeah you are! So happy to see this and celebrate your triple digits with you ![]()

Good to see you using the tools to help you with your vaping. I have faith that you will be free if that addiction too.
Flex your sober muscles ![]()
you are doing a fantastic job. Hope you had a good time with the birthday celebration ![]()
@SinceIAwoke @JazzyS
I
YOU
I had a dream last night, strange it happened after 100 sober days, I dreamed that I was drinking wine by myself and then I was very drunk, and everything around me was getting blurry, like almost disappearing and… I woke up… confused and scared and… on my bed there was 2 of them
, sleeping peacefully and for the first time close to each other without fighting
I couldn’t be more happy seeing them and… being sober xxx
Best drunk dream I ever had was about 5 months sober, I dreamed I had drank and was going to be found out. I awoke in a panic. I feel back asleep and dreamed I was at an AA meeting and my sobriety was intact.
Love ya too❤️. . I absolutely hate the addiction dreams but do love waking up and realizing that it was a dream and I’m still 100% sober.
How cool to wake up with your two kitties sleeping on your bed. They are warming up to each other
.
How’s your healing going? Will you need PT to help with movement?
Happy Friday ![]()
The dream was really scary, things around me slowly disappearing, almost like loosing my vision… which when I think about it is what is happening when the addiction is progressing… we loose ability to see things for what they are.
My recovery is going well, the bandages removed (my foot looks so ugly now
bruised etc but the shape has changed and I know it will look amazing in my flip flops this summer
), I can walk a bit but only indoors and not for too long, at some point I will start physiotherapy, back to work moved to until after 30th March, I don’t need painkillers anymore.
I feel like the worse is behind me now. Im looking forward to the future, the spring is coming and I will be able to come back to my fitness painfree xxx
A great interpretation. ![]()
