Congrats on 51 weeks!

I remember looking at that chart like even half a year seemed foreign and impossible, like a pipe dream. I can’t believe I’m only a few days from checking all the boxes. Amazing what 1 year of life looks like after making 1 tough decision and living by it.

Day 19. A good day. Still so much rain, but that didn’t stop the dog girl and I from setting out on our muddy hike. Realizing she can’t do the mileage or the pace she used to do, which is sad. Will have to adapt and take her on shorter hikes (she loves hikes still), and sneak out while she naps so that I still get my km’s in. Preparing myself mentally – not negatively – to enjoy the people (Mom) and pals (dog girl) that are still here today, and know that when their time comes to go, I will grieve them soberly. This may sound morbid (to prepare myself), but I don’t mean it to. I’m just wrapping my head around these eventualities (whether next week, next year, next decade), as I know my default will be to self-medicate, and I’ve committed to myself I won’t do that with future loss…

Found this larger mushroom/fungi today growing on an almost vertical slope. I can’t help it, I always think if I wait long enough, a forest gnome or similar creature who lives under such things (at least in fiction) will show up. It’s more likely that a junior reporter from our small weekly newspaper will find me, capture me on camera, with the caption “Middle-aged hiker, waiting for appearance of gnome, claims to be 19 days sober.”

Big love to you all! Happy sober Saturday,
M :orange_heart:

Sure, but do either you or @Fargesia_murielae make a bar graph out of your Smarties? Guilty…

Ah, grocery store tears. It’s been a while since my last episode, which happened at the deli counter. I ordered the cheese, the young deli person turned away to get my order ready (taking just long enough for my mind to wander back to grief), turned back to give it to me - saw my tears, and very somberly said “You don’t have to get the Gouda…”

Farm fresh bacon and flowers - you are making me miss the farmers markets! I hope they were delish and beautiful :relaxed:

303 Days. Today didn’t start out well. I had car trouble and got stuck in the parking lot at a local store. Had to wait a couple hours for hubby to come to the rescue. Thankful it was a minor fix, in a parking lot and not on the road since I still don’t have a valid license. Later in the day, I did have time to take my daughter swimming. I swear I gave birth to a fish. She would live in the water if I let her.

More nightmares, but I’m awake, alive and sober. That’s positive.

We’re going to the city tomorrow for some shopping, I’m looking forward to it. We’re going on a camping trip Friday so we’ll gear up and prepare for that next week. It’ll be the first time our boys will sleep in a tent.
I’m so excited, and so are they.

Planning to spend my time preparing and focusing on the trip, hoping it’ll chase all other thoughts away. I’m already creating a pinterest board for tasty camping recipes, tips and tricks and smart camping hacks.

We’re going to a camping spot, because there’s no way I’ll rough it without proper toilets, showers or clean water. I might be born of grid but I’m not that adventurous.

Happy Sunday everyone.

They do, and usually we go Glamping on the Swedish westcoast in a pirate Themepark by the ocean every year. Renting a comfortable cottage, but this year the park is closed and we’re still supposed to stay in our own provinces to avoid tourist crowds. So we’re packing a tent and glamps aroung the canal instead. Goeta canal as it’s called is also a tourist spot, but since we’re both born here we know all the small villages around the canal that usually don’t have tourists so we’re aiming for that.

Unfortunately we’ve got a lot of annoying relatives living there to, but we’re not visiting so I’ve might have made all of them mad by now :joy:
