Checking in daily to maintain focus #18

I agree. I try to go to the waterfalls here and walk the trails as much as I can!

That would be awesome. I downloaded zoom a few days ago. Not sure how to work it exactly. But I’m sure I’ll figure it out. Could you please send me the link or help me to find the schedule? That would be awesome. Thank you so much!

I made it through day 4, I can’t believe I did though, I felt so close to giving in because I am so tired and in a lot of pain, but I’m so glad I made it. Into day 5 now, in 3.5hrs this will be the cleanest I’ve been since my relapse started in mid April. I pray for the strength to keep telling my addict voice ‘No’, and talking myself out of it. I need to pay close attention to the thought tomorrow whilst my eldest cat, is having his teeth cleaned under general anaesthetic, I don’t cope well with things like this, all of the anxiety comes up, but I hope to stay strong, I don’t want to reset my counter, I want to see that first week tick over.

I’ve only been to zoom meetings since I started back in aa over a week and a half ago, would probably prefer the in person ones though (used to go to them years ago)

They are still great though and you will still hear the things you need to hear and share a bit if you want.

Think I’ve been to about 9 or 10 I think.

Intherooms.com will get you there and also have an app. Haven’t been to one there yet. The Irish aa website has a list of Zoom meetings too so that’s where I usually go.

Hope that helps :slightly_smiling_face:

Checking in sober and cigarette free :heavy_check_mark: It’s been awhile since I’ve actually checked in here. I’ve still been reading, but haven’t been as motivated because I’ve been dealing with some issues at work that have been negatively effecting me and causing a lot of anxiety. Considering making some changes in that department once this covid stuff calms down. My Mother’s health has been declining as well, which has been tough to say the least. I need to get back into the habit of checking in and trying to stay more positive. Hope you all are well :yellow_heart::dizzy:

Hi everyone, I’m just coming up on 34 days… any second now… come on, phone, get to it… hmmmm, maybe it’s stuck at 33.99 and is staying there just to annoy me ! It’s working, too…
Anyway, all is well over here tonight. The installation of my new windows is progressing, but I hadn’t thought that it would take a third day ! In any event, it’s nice NOT to hear the bells from the belltower about 75 metres (or less) from my bedroom window !
It has been pretty warm today, but I’m hoping that it will start cooling back down as we get further into autumn.
In any event, I hope that you are all well, and having a happy and sober Tuesday.
And yes, it’s STILL on 33.99 !!

Just went to the store after work and didn’t buy beer.
Surprised the cash register didn’t ask the clerk to come over anyway.
Day 6 and going great.

So 51 days without cigarettes, ok cool.
The second one is the hardest challenge a man can do. Actually if you look at is as a challenge it won’t even work. It has to be a lifestyle.
God bless you all in your journey. Keep it up guys.

Good for you getting 4 days back under your belt. One day at a time. That’s all you got to do. Don’t drink today.
:pray:t2::heart:

Thanks a lot. Drinking is not my addiction though.

Don’t confuse luck with hard work.

Day 724: When you try something new, you’re bound to fall at least once, but you can’t land it unless you get back up and try again.

Sounds good from what I’ve read.
Thanks April!

day 3. I’ve been feeling pretty good today. I’ve been thinking how self-love is important and I need to continue building on that to succeed. Gonna head out for a bike ride in a few and enjoy the rest of the day.

This was the first night I came home from a long day at work and didn’t even think about a drink. Made myself tea, soup and a terrific peanut butter sandwich instead. Day 18. I think i might be able to do this.
