Thanks Dazercat! Wouldn’t be here without’cha all…
Day 42. Woke up in a funk, so I took it easy this morning, and then collected myself and took Max for a long walk. It rained most of the day, but I managed to get a couple of errands done and had dinner with a friend.
@RosaCanDo congratulations on 60 days! That’s so great!
@Joby: triple digits! Go you!
@Tomek it sounds like you had a pretty good day. Yay! I’m so glad you’re here with us!
Tropical storm Eta is coming our way in the next couple of days. Fingers crossed it isn’t too bad.
Thank you for the congrats, and good on you for taking care of yourself through a funk. I do get it. 42 days is great. 42 is the answer to life, the universe and everything, after all! (Don’t know if you are a Hitchhiker’s Guide to the Galaxy fan, but it’s one of my favorite nerd references). Truly, though, each day sober is to be celebrated.
Congratulations on your sixty days!! What a great gift to get today for your sixty days sober.
I hope your arthritis cooperates with you today on your happy weekend.
I haven’t had time to check this thread, so I’m six days late, but congratulations on your three years! You’re doing awesome! Also I love that number you’ve got going in total savings.
Checking in : i feel awesome i hope everyone is feelings the same
Day 21, still working on this exercise from the therapist going back into my past. So thought i’d ask my dad what he remembers. Sounds like I was lucky to make it to adulthood with the states I was getting into as a teenager. Not surprised I was such a mess but definitely cringeworthy looking back, and glad to now be learning to cope with life rather than medicate and numb with drugs and alcohol.
Day 89
Planning an evening out is proving, not triggering, exactly, but feeling somewhat left out by the endless “all-you-can-drink” or “free glass of bubbly” offers.
Nice one. I remember I couldn’t believe I’d reach 100 days. Took me a while to get used to being that many day sober after a lifetime of drinking.
- Another glorious autumn day here but I want and need to start painting my living room now or it will not happen. So I’m allowing myself just 20 minutes more of procrastinating. Had a lovely long ride yesterday anyway and I’m a little bit sore. Will keep you posted about my progress and to stay accountable. Sober and clean. Have a great Sunday all. Love from Amsterdam and the heath and woods of Utrecht province.
So sorry for your loss, praying for the recovery of your boyfriend’s mother. Sending you strength and comfort in these challenging times.
Blessings and sobriety!
Congratulations everyone for their specific milestones.
It’s a foggy, cold Sunday here but I am determined to go outside biking anyways. I will put on a windproof pair of gloves. I guess that might help. Afternoon maybe try to glaze ginger w/o sugar. We’ll see.
Have a nice Sunday everybody.
Edit : what I forgot that made me smile this morning when I saw the speech of Biden that he mentioned that we should not waste time on war. Great
Can we have a ‘before’ picture of your living room please.
Its been a long journey over 3 decades to willingly find the right headspace. A lot of people I know don’t get it and some have actively encouraged me to keep drinking because of that. They can have their say but I’m doing this for me one day at a time and finding healthier alternatives to cope with stress and depression. Thanks for your words of support - I don’t get support anywhere else.
Thank you. I don’t know how I got here but glad I did. Here’s to day 101. One day at a time.
Here you go Pinky. Gave me an escape for another 30 minutes and one more coffee. But here I go emptying my bookcase.
Thanks, just odaat my TS friend.
Blessings and sobriety!
