I’m so glad you’re doing well and had such a great talk! Those are so important and my wife and I have had several similar ones since I stopped drinking as well.

Checking in day 38… Weather is amazing; unseasonably warm, which I actually is finding me in that “boy, a drink would be good” as I used to love drinks outside, in the garden etc. Hubby is ready for a beer. He’s also said the other day that “Wouldn’t you just love a nice cold dirty martini on a restaurant patio?” I pointed out that is not helpful and he said, “well, wouldn’t it?” Sigh. But up to me to say no. Which I did. Water & lemon, and out to play in little guy’s treehouse. He’s my tiny rock

Congratulations on your ten months. That’s awesome work! I’ve never been through the Holidays sober. Ever!! Looking forward to it actually. Not being a slave to buying all that extra booze. Look at all the money we’ll save!

Not condoning violence but the urge would be strong. NOT helpful. Good for you for saying no to even a hypothetical. Also, tree forts are awesome! I’ve seen pics of yours and I want one!!! Last edit: you’ve got the best, and cutest reason to keep at it, your little, adorable rock.

Haha a smack was tempting. I went with a scowl instead. He only drinks beer (which doesn’t appeal to me thankfully) and he rarely drinks spirits so he’s egging me on. Wanting his drinking partner I’m sure.
Treehouse is pretty neat. Should be fun in winter too for outdoor play and shelter from wind & snow

58 days no cocaine.
I have had a lazy Sunday, another takeaway, a couple of hours in bed doing nothing but unable to nap, BUT…I did manage both of my walks today, so that’s one achievement 
I’ve started listening to a mental health related podcast which I’m enjoying.
Prince is doing a bit better. He ate all of his breakfast this morning, plus what Wolfie left, he refused dinner tonight but did eat some tuna, he’s napping beside me on the bed now, it’s time to disturb him briefly to give him his pain med, bless him.
Been having very bizarre dreams, where everyone around me is doing some kind of strange drugs that I’ve never heard of and I’m trying to make sure they’re all okay. Atleast I’m sober in my dreams too I guess.

Congratulations on your 10 months sober and as far as ’ That God thing’ we only have to be WILLING to believe that MAYBE there COULD be a power greater than ourselves. With 10 months sober something or someone is keeping an eye on you.

Day 43. Got up early and got my laundry done. It’s a dreary day, so Max and I are taking some short walks, I’m working on a knitting project, and I’m supposed to talk to my dad on the phone later. I’m a little worried about talking to my dad, because his message on Friday said that he was sorry we hadn’t talked in over a week. I’d actually talked to him twice in that time. I’d suspected he’d been drinking both of those times, but his messages confirmed that he’d blacked out. It’s a good reminder to me of one of the reasons I quit drinking. I also tended to drink to blackout, and couldn’t remember conversations and things I’d done. It’s just not a physically or emotionally healthy way for me to live.

Well done on your 43 days, I’ve been watching you grow and never really spoke but it’s hard to talk to every single person on here. So I would just like to wish you all the best on your journey and keep rockin it just like your doing.

I try to keep in mind that the drink that sounds great is NEVER as good as I’ve drummed it up to be in my head. Underwhelmed, every time, and then I’m left with nothing to show for it after. Not worth it!

Just learned of Alex Trebek’s passing. I’ve watched Jeopardy! all my life, it’s been a constant since I was a little kid. One of my favorites thanks to my Nana.
Mr Trebek always seemed to be such a truly kind person and he handled his battle with cancer with such bravery, positivity, and grace. May he rest in peace.
