My sister just called me and said our mother has covid; they’re taking her to the hospital, she also has COPD. Prayers would be appreciated. :pensive:

You know I say this in a nice way I love hearing from you. Dang girl you are so honest. Someday your going to be a great sponsor. I dont think your going to give up your pretty tough. I would hate to piss you off. Said with kindness. You say what you mean and mean what you say. You said you were not BREAKING and I believe YOU.

Thank you so much … I think it is going to be a difficult thing for me as it will come as a bit of a shock to her… she is moving out next year but for the future it will be a good thing for her to know and understand. I feel the support and this really helps.x

Thank you. Absolutely … you are right. I am going to try to not make a massive deal out of it when I tell her and tread lightly (and lighter!!) from now on generally in life… not drinking will help with that I think!! - I hope you have a good weekend too.

Day 29 check in! I usually wait to later in the day to check in on here, but I was just doing some reflecting on my drinking over the last year and realized I’ve been free of alcohol more often than not. A conservative estimate gives me 8 months total of days without alcohol. So even though my “official” number of current days straight of no booze is 29, I actually have 8 months of abstaining. That is pretty cool! And if I look back at 2019, that’s when I feel I really started my sobriety journey when I did 1.5 months from mid-September through October and greatly reduced my normal drinking in November and December.

I’m glad I took a look back from a wider perspective bc it gives me a better sense of where I’m at than just my current number of 29. It helps me reflect on the whole journey and see how far I’ve come.

You’ll find someone, just hang in there. I had the same struggle with finding a provider that was taking on new clients. I even had a couple places just flat out never respond to me. Eventually I found one though. Keep trying and try not to get discouraged.

@Chrispl That’s tough, I hope it wasn’t too big of a slip and well done for coming back

@Claire I totally understand how that could happen, yet for me, once I feel this type of alcohol is ok, the door cracks open for other types to slip through
