I do the same, I can be very impulsive to destroy a relationship if I dont think the results will meet my expectations or I believe in my head its detrimental, probably a self preservation mechanism sometimes I’m totally validated most times I’m wrong

Feeling great a bit tired very proud in my discipline of not overeating and eating a bit clean moving forward one day at a time. Congratulations to everyone hitting milestones and going after it !
The awesome part is you’re not giving up!!! Regardless of what your brain tells you the amazing thing is that you were able to stay sober for a few days you’re a MIRACLE!!! It will get easier with time, be gentle with yourself. So many awesome people are here to help you get through this just keep checking in. Proud of you keep up the good work!!!

Thank you bro!
I hope you feel better too!
Definitely gonna look into this,
My addiction didn’t start with booze, it started as a kid with things like baseball cards and bikes, it grew from there
Thank you @Tomek, @MrsOdh, @Misokatsu, @Rockstar24777, @Lisa07, @anon74766472 (did I forget to mention somebody? )

Wonderful and beautiful things are happening this year for us bro I feel it all through my soul!!
Thank you very much!!! Gonna lay low and heal lol. Congratulations again my friend enjoy the day!!!
Checking in. Day 6. Sleep is so much better, the first few days were torture, but I’m looking forward to bedtime now. Got on my treadmill for the first time in 3 months last night, pretty proud of myself for that. Only ran 10 minutes, but it’s a start.
Feeling apprehensive about a sober Saturday, during my relapse that was my night to lay it on heavy with the drinks. Tonight I will watch a movie with my kids and make it special for them. Have a great day everyone!
Checking in sober, Day 368. Got this at a meeting the other day, want to share it with @Jonachav123 who hit 1 year as well - way to go, bro!!! It is a reminder, not a reward - a reminder of all the hard work that went into recovery and of what can be achieved in sobriety!! Congrats, man!!!
Hi alcohol and Illinois
Don’t be too hard on yourself! We’ve all been there. You’ll hear a lot at meetings that ‘relapse is a part of recovery’. The important thing is to understand how and why the relapse occurred. What were you thinking and feeling before it happened? What was your thought process that allowed you to think it was ok to back out again? A relapse is a process not an event, and if you can interrupt the process you can avert the event. The good thing is that you haven’t given up, you have been honest with yourself, and you are reaching out for help. We’re here for you!!!
Thanks for sharing, I’m absolutely going to check this out this weekend.
