Wow, 54 days. Feels pretty incredible to say that! Since I passed my longest duration being sober last week, every day really feels like an accomplishment. Each day is the longest I’ve gone as an adult without alcohol. Cool!
Update for those who regularly read my check ins. My boyfriend and I quickly moved past the fight we got in when I left for the week last Saturday. Yes, I was very sad about it but ultimately I decided not to let it get me down and we were both able to put it behind us. We’ve talked every day since I left and it’s been good. Being in a one bedroom apartment with the same person, no matter how much you love them, for nearly a year without much of a break is bound to bring up issues and make things tense. I hope when I return we will be able to start fresh and appreciate each other more. I am also going to try and be better about communicating when I need my space and be more proactive about taking a day to myself out in nature or if I can do something safely with a friend when I need it.

Happy New Year everyone!!
It wasn’t that long ago I was planning the biggest celebration in the Hope that today. This day. Would come. The old me would have been so shit faced by now. I celebrated with my Aha Citrus Green Tea Sparkling water. Wife had some champagne. Good for her 
I don’t even have an urge or any desire to get liquored up in celebration. I couldn’t have gotten here without the support and caring love from all you guys. I think back and all my drinking for rewards and celebrations just sounds so stupid now.

Hey this is great news glad you worked it out. So right about space in this time Meaning that difficulties are bound to arise. It’s a necessity almost. Maybe you can talk about how to dissect these next time issues arise, and how to best communicate.
I have been off Ts as my new job has been manic long days. However, issues building with my bf, from a distance. He doesn’t work and I feel like we live quite different lives cause I’m working 13 hour days and he basically isn’t working at the moment as he’s got admin to do. Funny how at the moment, in change (going sober and a new job) you start to feel quite different. You have to ensure that you’re taking the other person with you almost. I’ve been trying to encourage him to ask me about my work which I’m passionate about or my sobriety or how I’m feeling but he seems not interested in either.

Yay! I’m just so glad my neighbor across the street finally took down the trump flag and put his American flag back up. Yikes it was tough seeing that everyday out my front window.
