This time last week I had made a super dumb decision to stop on the way home and buy cheap wine. Not today. Today I listened to my Pema motivational tape, drove straight home, and am now putting on my sneakers to bring the dog for a walk. When I wake up tomorrow my counter will say I made it through 6 days. It’s a start

Thanks Graham that’s a great verse for sure. It’s definitely God that’s keeping me strong without a doubt. I forget sometimes how intense things are right now. I’m literally laying in a hospital bed healing while at the same time making funeral arrangements for Corey. This is really crazy, can’t believe I’m actually doing what I’m doing. Thank you for the support brother it means a lot

Gracias, amigo, you’re absolutely right. Hard to believe I was out there sucking down beers while mowing the lawn and kept wondering why I got so overheated and almost passed out! Denial. I’m really glad I got sober in September with some time in August, too, and have enjoyed some lovely warm days and BBQs, and on into the fall with bonfires and such without alcohol. This summer I’ll get back on my bike and enjoy exploring my town on two wheels for the first time with no worries about being too intoxicated to ride!
