Checking in on Day 4. Ready for the day! Today we get some family over for a visit, have not seen them for months because Covid. I even made a cake for for today, yesterday. All from scratch. Normally I would Just buy one or buy some cookies. Not this time, I had the energy to do it properly

Checking in on day 11. Just came back from my 10km run. Normally I would do 13 (thatās my best) but itās pissing down here and abnormally cold. So really shitty weather but now I feel good. I hope everyone is having a beautiful sober Sunday with a lot of sunshine

- Just finished my coffee. I might do just another not doing much at all day today. The northern winds still keep spring at bay here for the most. And itās my holidays. I can do whatever I want. Watch some sports maybe. My team Ajax can clinch the league today. And thereās Formula 1.
A little town stroll first maybe. One thing I donāt want to do at all is use any substance. There still might be an occasional crave or urge at times. But Iām really totally convicted I donāt want to do that no more. Never again. Sober and clean is the way. Life is so much better this way. Have as good a Sunday as you all can friends. Clean and sober. Love from Amsterdam and Terschelling two years ago today.

Day 800 alcohol / 9 months or so smoking
Had a dream last night with some significant people from my past in it. It always really knocks me when that happens, it leaves me with a sad feeling that I struggle to shake for a day or 2. I live too much in the past as it is, so when it creeps into my dreams a get a bit rattled I guess.
But things are ok. Iāve been busy with work and moving house so although itās been tough at times this past few months, itās all positive stuff. Not enough time in the day to feel sorry for myself all the time which is a good thing. One thing I have learnt in those 800 days is to take the wins when I get them.

In the middle of my day 5ā¦ Feeling good and starting to look better too, not so dehydrated and dullā¦
The sleep is still poor and very vivid and weird dreams but itās way better than blackout sleep and hangover.
I really have this strong feeling to make it work this time around, Iām actually looking forward to doing things sober

I feel really positive this morning! Wish I hadnāt broken my previous 14 day streak and fallen into the alcohol cesspit for 5 days or Iād be nearly at a month now!
