Have a wonderful weekend away, hun

TGIF. Planning a long hike tomorrow- 15 to 20 miles- so it will be an early and mellow Friday night. If I had my usual Friday night party agenda, this hike would be a death march! Instead, I’ll be rested, prepared and ready to tackle the challenge.

@Mindymoo @JennyH @BrianP I love watching Brits talk to each other. Because I learn something new every time  I have to Google what the heck y’all are saying!

Rise and shine on day 483. I have two doctors appointments today, a day off from work, and a tribute band concert. We have connections to free House of Blues tix. Slippery When Wet (Bon Jovi). When we went to see tribute Journey in May there was a drunk woman doing drunk dancing…until she fell. I cringed and remembered why drinking is really bad for me!

I hope I say this right, so I won’t offend you; here goes. He doesn’t want you to change, because he wants to go on being the wild, irresponsible party hound. He wants his drinking buddy back. You’re taking that away from him by bettering yourself. I strongly doubt you can change is mind about this. It doesn’t seem like he’s ready to grow up. That said, it’s probably for the positive that he wants to disentangle your finances. You won’t be paying for his alcohol or the consequences that come with it. Keep your chin up, you’re doing great!

Haha, that is so funny, thank you.

I feel the same way about reading all the Americans. Love how you say/write y’all. Just not a thing here.

Oh no, so sorry. That was definitely deliberate timing to ruin your weekend. I hope you are able to still enjoy it and make the most of your space. My Dad also had a stroke and the strain was enormous xx

Checking in on day 26! One month slowly creeping up on me… I’m already at work so I’ll have to check back in later to catch up with everyone.

I hope everyone has a lovely day clean and sober :two_hearts::muscle:t2:

Checking in on day 63.
Yesterday’s check in has been deleted but I haven’t been notified as to why. Is it just a glitch with the site or did I say something inappropriate?

Day 11.

Tested positive for covid yesterday. I guess that’s a kind of silver lining to a booze habit, is not a lot of sicknesses can match the mental/physical ramifications of a real brutal hangover and alcohol withdrawal lmao.

Well, it’s a good time to read books in isolation. If y’all got any immediate recommends please dm me or let me know!

Thanks guys, hope you’re all keeping happy and healthy!!

Congratulations as well on passing the 20 mark! I too am a little nervous, since last time I only made it to 22. So let’s do this, and celebrate 30 together!!

No, I’m not Canadian, I was born in & live in the US. My company has a large Canadian presence, so I know when there’s a Holiday, our Canadian suppliers will be closed.

I hope you have/had an awesome day! :star_struck:

It has actually been a pretty darn good day! I’m very happy about the (slightly used) car that I am now leasing, being without a car for a while was a real drag.
The 30-day mark is not that far off, we can both do it!

8 months of freedom!! Woooooot!!!
I’m so very grateful to have found the resources and the strength and commitment to step away from the alcohol. 30 years of chasing the buzz, and finding myself being chased by addiction is over!!

I am so grateful to all the supports that can be found in this community.

I’m grateful for my supportive friends and family.

I’m 57 years old and I feel like a youngster with all this great sleep and clear mind. Thank you to everyone for the help.

And for those who are struggling, please keep at it. One day or hour at a time is what it takes. You are worth it and you deserve to be healthy and find peace. Go for it!

Hi team. Checking in on the morning of 385. Happy July (belated for my Aussie/Kiwi/etc friends)! And a very Happy Canada Day :canada: to my awesome northern neighbors!

Having coffee and trying to build up the motivation to get a lot of work done today. Let’s hope for the best.

Congratulations @Barbtarbox on double digits, and I wish you a speedy recovery from covid.

3 months @KellyKelly! Way to go!

Congratulations on 20 days @maxwell and @Daishippai!

Ugh, sorry @Mindymoo that this happened to you. I hope you have a fantastic weekend in spite of this rather unskillful act by your husband. I echo what others have mentioned here: it sounds like he feels threatened by your new growth. Wishing you strength.

8 months is fantastic @LAB! Keep it up!
