Checking in day 3.
Loved the AA meeting on Tuesday.
Sober people from all walks of life being supportive.
They are the best.
Going back to a local one on Thursday to meet some AA peeps.
Bf supportive.
The weekend will be where the challenges start again - I don’t really drink in the week anyway so it’s the weekend of binging for me.
Excited to wake up hangover free on Saturday- I will check in over the weekend
Love to you all

Honey, there is life after copd. I was diagnosed about 15 years ago. It’s a process of learning your limitations and keeping track of the changes. Do your best to maintain a healthy lifestyle while eating well and continuing to exercise within your limitations. I used to love climbing mountains. Not the hanging from hooks and ropes kind lol. I no longer can. So I changed my focus to something else. I drove up the mountains with my camera and took amazing shots of the sights. Yes, fatigue becomes a thing but don’t let it overcome your drive to live the best life you can. Set new goals. Find a new bucket list item. Do your best to live without copd becoming your identity. It’s a part of you. Just like your addiction/alcoholism is. A part. Not who you are. I care about you. :heart:

Thank you Sassy! I guess I’m disappointed because backpacking was my only exercise. Can’t jog because of my ankles, just hate weights, but I loved being outdoors. I suppose I can still go on nature walks (on flat surfaces!) and some camping. Wouldn’t mind being a photographer, sounds like fun.
I care about you too! :hugs:

@CATMANCAM congrats on two years alcohol free! What an achievement, and well done on staying clear of cocaine!

@dalex77_2 fentanyl is Not easy to get off of. Well done on 77 days.

Hi Kat here on Day 67.

Doing well. Functioning well. Worked on outbreak unit with all the PPE today but everyone supported each other and it was good. Went to gym after and God be praised (and my sports bra lol) was able to do 12 minutes of running 2 minutes at a time! Could I have done that while using? Hell No using made me sick and weak.

Also, tomorrow I decided to take my boys (8 and 14) to family swim tomorrow night and if the 12 and 15 year olds want to come as well that is great. I am slowly becoming more involved in their lives again as a mother should be.

Love Kat

Day 193

Going to take my health and selfcare more serious starting today. Been working full time sleeping barely 5 hours a day. Also got a bit careless about my diet and overall not caring well for myself. Although I feel like I’m failing, I wouldn’t even be trying if I weren’t sober. Thankful for my family, my job&colleagues, and my friends. Good night everyone! :dizzy:

@Ravikamor Wonderful! How exciting!

@Miranda Keep trying. No need for shame, but reflection is good, what could be changed? what new resources could you try?

@Maxwell I am so sorry to hear you are in so much pain. It is hard to be positive mentally when you are in physical pain.

@mamador Indeed, the ‘walk 5 miles into a forest, have to walk 5 miles out’ is very true. But you are heading in the right direction!

@CATMANCAM Congratulations sober twin! Proud of you. I hope you start feeling better soon.

@dalex77_2 Congratulations! Lucky sevens!

Checking in with :two: years

Not feeling very celebratory. Recently just tired, maybe because of the heat, unmotivated to do the last bit of grading I must do and berating myself for it, frustrated with my husband and his endless fussiness about money and household things, and eating is going a bit haywire again, and hating myself because of that.
But the possibility of drinking never on the table for me. That part of my life is done and dusted.
