You seem to have often problems with sleeping. Is there something that could help you?

I had insomnia when I was younger and it drove me crazy.

Thanks for the recipe!

I was on documentary short of becoming vegan, because the cruel handling of cows. :wink:

I tried a goat cheese for barbecue and it was quite nice. I must confess.

Day 10086 clean and sober.
Day 3.5 nicotine free.

Headed out in a few for my pulmonary test. Not sure what they are going to do to me but Iā€™m as ready as I can be.

Still having cravings. Still havenā€™t given in. No plan to give in today.

Have a blessed day! :heart:

Hello Iā€™m new here and currently 8 days alcohol free! When I first tried I lasted 2 days and had a drink. I was so disappointed in myself. So I started over and day 8 is so much easier than day 2 & 3.
It feels so good waking up well rested and refreshed instead of hung over! Iā€™m so grateful for these 8 days with a clear mind.
My only issue is I have a wedding to attend this weekend abs of course thereā€™s going to be alcohol. Iā€™m not sure if Iā€™m strong enough yet in my recovery to go without relapsing. I tell myself I am but I donā€™t know. I would hate to miss my uncle wedding but Iā€™m thinking maybe I shouldnā€™t go. I need some adviceā€¦

Hello everyone. Day 3 AF Day 72 smoke free.
Welcome @Hannahmay345
@SassyBoomer 3.5 days :clap::clap::clap::no_smoking::full_moon_with_face: keep going.
@Lovelylisha hello and welcome. If you have the slightest doubt now that you may drink then its usually the case that you do end up drinking.
Is driving an option?
Is it possible to go to the ceremony make your excuses and leave early? Could you white knuckle it and just drink soft drinks?
Seriously think about how much youd like to quit alcohol and how you will feel the following morning if you do drink.
Now think about how you will feel if you dont drink. Fresh, money in your pocket no anxiety no bad head, no bad stomach. No disco damage. A clear memory of your uncles wedding day. Take us in your pocket and read on here if you have to. :+1:

Day :keycap_ten::star_struck::tada::confetti_ball:
Today I started my day by writing the tasks I want to finish today, I finished most of them :coffee::heavy_check_mark::hibiscus:
I think today is finally a productive one since I wasted alot of time the last two days.
I wanted to be free :unamused: so I didnā€™t write any tasks
I spent most of these days doing literally nothing
I hate this feeling that nothing is achieved :arrow_double_down:
Have a nice day :heart_eyes::earth_asia:

Thanks so much! Your response was so helpful and you are so right. I donā€™t want nothing to jeopardize my sobriety and if fear of drinking thoughts are already creeping up in my head Iā€™m thinking I should skip this event. But if I do go I will try my best to remain strong and will definitely have yā€™all in my pocket. I will keep yā€™all posted. Thanks so much Iā€™m loving this group already :heart:

Hi, yes my sleeping is like waves a week good then a week bad, I use chamomile tea and valarian root alot and trying to incorporate some exercise to wear myself out a bit more.
Also anxiety and depression dont do any help but when my sleeping is off I also feel guilty like Iā€™m doing something wrong by waking up late and not having a proper pattern.
Iā€™m really working on it, itā€™s becoming less and less but when it comes it usually lasts a good few days.
It could also be my brain still balancing out almost a year later. All those years of drinking and drugging and staying up days in a row Iā€™m sure didnt do me any favours !!
I ended up meditating and falling asleep until noon ā€¦ which I feel terrible about but hey no point Carrying these feelings around all day.

How are you doing ?

Welcome the the community @Lovelylisha and @Hannahmay345 its great to have you with us :slightly_smiling_face:

@Hayleylujah that is great news congratulations

Day 70 :heart:
I heard back from the job. I did a great interview and they were really impressed. Theyā€™ve been deliberating all day but gave the job to someone else who scored a couple more points overall. However, they offered me a job as a arts coordinator, they created the post for me and Iā€™m absolutely delighted :grin:
Gonna plan an events calendar and start in 2 weeks x great day x
Keep on keeping on x

I quit smoking and drinking at exactly the same time. They went hand in hand for me and iv smoked all my life.
I used the patches and gum and they have helped tremendously.
My dr helped me with this, not sure if they may be able to help you maybe.

Beause I wake up sleepier then I was before I went to bed, it is very likely that Iā€™ve apnoea during sleeping. They will correct my nasal septum and concha on thursday. I hope that will help me to feel completely awoken again. :wink:

I used to take melatonin, but this was dissolved in alcohol. So it is not an option anymore. :slightly_smiling_face: I use sleepcasts on Headspace as an alternative.
