Checking in daily to maintain focus #49

Day 15. Time is flying by, though the last days have been tough. Sometimes I was afraid that I was getting depressed. It’s getting better though. My main skills are sport and knitting. Btw the sweater is ready knitting :coat:
Good morning for all of you :sunny:

Checking in after seeing the GP about follow up blood test results since I gave up alcohol. My liver function tests were not good 2 months ago but I am so proud and relieved to say they are completely back to normal levels.

My face has lost that swollen look and my skin is clearer. My eyes are no longer a shade of yellow and my stomach is no longer bloated and tender. And I have lost 4kg!

My GP is very happy with my results and my commitment and so am I

I am so sorry to hear you feel so unsafe sometimes. Could you block the window with something at night? Or move your bed? Has something happened to trigger these feelings of being spied on? I am sending you big hugs :people_hugging:

4 months free from alcohol!:black_heart::muscle:t2:
Sober date 22.07.2022

I made it… :sunglasses:

Not that big party feeling coming up right now, but I should do something special, even if it’s in second part of the week.

Choose not to swim yesterday as I was cold and very tired. So I had a pre-sleep on couch and a long night-sleep tonight. 8pm to 10pm and 10.15pm to 6am. Feeling healing process in my body. Right choice to sleep as this was what my body needed!

Love :black_heart:

Thank you!

And the Dollar Store is our spot too. We found some pretty cool Xmas decorations.

Its kind of a trip being sober this long. I remember back when I was trying to beat my 6 months. Didn’t think I was gonna be able to do it.

Check this out…

Big thanks to everyone on this forum.

It’s funny, that you mentioned the “cleaning beers”. I used to clean like this, too and someone here also wrote that they used cocaine for this.

The similarity between addicts is quite impressive.

A little morning check in before I get tore into the cleaning for the second day of “bug eradication”. It’s been really nice hearing that others also had their versions of “cleaning beers”. I think as addicts and alcoholics there is this tendency to isolate and think “it’s only me” but really it is good to share. When I first decided I needed and wanted help with my drinking the first thing I sought out was community support including SMART recovery meetings. I only relapsed once the services were curtailed due to Covid and the first thing I did when I embarked on this effort was to come here and to attend a couple of AA meetings. Coming here has become something of a lifeline really. I read every day even if I don’t post.
Have a good day everyone!

Have as good a day as you can friends. Love.

Pic is from my town walk a couple of days ago.

Loved my pickup bball game yesterday night, it went so much better than the week before. Today it’s back to work a full week. And Friday will see the start of my new therapy group where I’ll be trying to deal with youth traumas. Feeling a bit anxious for that already. But will see. All part of my personal journey of Recovery/Discovery.
@Juli1 4 Months already! Big congrats lady.
@ReeBee28 Very happy for your lab results.
@LimaSierra Congrats on a full week of sobriety and welcome to Talking Sober!
