Checking in daily to maintain focus #49

Checking in for day 49.

Day 59. 1 day shy of 2 months. I really never imagined this possible before. I just always assumed I would be a drunk the rest of my life. Everyone always assumed I would be drinking at every get together, including myself. Pretty crazy what a difference between now and 60 days ago. All it took was a motivation, no an obsession to not drink for one day, then repeat over and over. God bless you all and god bless this forum because I couldnā€™t have down it with out the guidance and advice from all you.

Day 274
Morning TS fam! Really hope everyone is enjoying their monday so far! Favorite day of the week for me! Got my son on the bus for school and now just about to do a workout. Love the -1Ā°C weather today. Thinking of getting outside for abit since its so nice. I am doing some grocery shopping later and some cleaning. Probably working on another dreamcatcher today. This one is for an incredible woman. Shes the founder of an organization that helps families with children suffering from cancer. She constantly helps my family and thinks of us even though my son isnt currently on chemotherapy. So i wanted to make her a yellow ā€œwarriorā€ dreamcatcher representing childhood cancer and the help she provides to many families. I ordered a charm off amazon:

Its going to bw perfect for it. I want to remind her that what she does matters!
Hope everyone has an addiction free day!

Yes you can claim credit for this! If anything, itā€™s you who opened yourself up for outside help Charlie! You who decided enough was enough. You who decided you couldnā€™t do it alone. Huge congrats friend! Excellent work.

Congrats on quitting MegaMeg. I might have drank about the same or a little bit more and I didnā€™t have any seizures but then again I had little withdrawal symptoms at all. It all depends on so much more than just how much we drank. Our physique, how we take care of our bodies, how well or bad we eat, both in nutrients as in the amount, our genes, our physiology, and much more. I know a little bit about it and Iā€™ve seen a lot of different stuff happening in my job as a detox nurse. Please take care. Iā€™d advise you to seek medical advise from a professional. Wishing you all success.

Life is busyā€¦ Up and down. Much better without alcohol though!

I made it
Iā€™m handling stressful situations way better now, weā€™ll see how Iā€™m doing the next 2 weeks.
Gonna treat myself extra good today after work. Going to walk home through the city, the Christmas lights are installed and it looks beautiful
After that I need some groceries, then shower and cooking. And then itā€™s already bed time again.
3 patients saw our struggle, they bought us cookies :yum::heart_eyes: And yes, I had to eat some. So my timer for ā€œno added sugarā€ is back to 0.

Day 8. I told my colleagues about the rebuff to get more salery. I must mention, I have very nice colleagues. After I have told the story they decided to ask as a group for more money. All of them. They have been upset too that my boss treated me like this.

So now my boss is in trouble, I guess.

I really donā€™t know if this situation will turn out good or bad for me.

Instead of numbing my frustration with alcohol, I told about.

This is a change.

@MegaMeg Congratulations on your Day1 in so glad your here, so much support for you here i hope the next few days go easy on you and remember were here for you through the bad and good days so keep reaching out.

@Mno I purchased a SAD lamp a few days ago and have been doing the same using it early when i wake up, my home is so dark even with all the lights on ! Il let you know if i notice a difference. Well the first morning i used it i actually was so full of energy i cleaned every corner of my home and it felt so good doing all the little bits that needed doing but werent noticable to the eye yet it felt good after too. Not sure if it was the lamp yet but i read with it on.

@MooseTracks Congratulations on your 71 days.
I always feel so relieved after those kind of dreams relieved that it was just a dream.

@Juli1 Congratulations on all your milestones you are doing so well, and so well with the swimming. I am slacking since my dental app 2 weeks ago i have not been just to reduce the possibility of causing an infection but i am still exercising at home and going to try to get 1,000 meters thats my goal - you motivate me to push myself and i have found this good for my confidence thank you.

@Joyce19 Congratulations on your 8 days :dizzy:

Day 410 checking in.

Today i found out my uncle (my cousin who isbmy best friends dad - also my favourite uncle)
Was rushed to the hospital emergency room at 2am last night. His wife felt him tapping her gently in her sleep and woke to him unable to breathe and looking pale and grey.
So far the news is he has leaking heart valve that has caused fluid on the lungs which altogether means he is in heart failure.
Not sure whats next or what stage his only 56.

Today my sisters cat had 5 kittens, we saved one and brought it back to life and its now feeding which is great news.

And today i am happy to be sober, i am happy that the strong cravings i am having and thoughts of using/drinking are quickly followed by thoughts of guilt and shame and memories of why i donā€™t drink although they are uncomfortable they are helping in a weird kind of way.

Today i want to thank you all for helping me to have strength to be sober, for letting me know and making me feel i am not alone and for really caring about not just me but all of us here.
The power of us all being here caring and comforting and encouraging eachother is something i always say i cant put into words and i cant but its something i am so glad i was warmly welcomed into and you have all helped me grow into who i am today and also stuck with me when things havent been good and held torches to guide me back to the light :hugs::hugs:
Thank you so much :purple_heart:

Thank you :hugs::hugs::pray::pray:
The kitten we massaged its heart for like 5 minutes and it took a massive gasp of air it was quite a intense moment !!
It then was crying for a few minutes non stop then didnt move for a while we thought it was paralysed so getting ready to drive to a vets to get some help for it as it wouldnt latch on to feed and it wasnt moving just crying but just as we were going to pick it up it just sprung into action climbing over the others and latched on it was amazing to see this. We spoke with the vets and they said if its feeding and now moving and not crying to just notice if it slowly improves or come in if it doesnt. And my sister messaged a while ago and eveything is ok, we even tried to bottle feed it but it managed by itself.

Its the white snow leopard kitty :purple_heart:

Hope you and your family are doing well :hugs:
