Day 100 checking in! Been a wild week for me but kept it clean and sober, had a couple N.A. beverage’s yesterday as my wife got them for Easter knowing we had family coming over that drank and she didn’t want me feeling uncomfortable. I didn’t even notice or remember she told me she got them lol.
Learned a lot this week about myself. My time in the military made me a very direct person as I was an officer and in command. Commanding troops is very different than the job I work now and my directness can come across as condescending at times because I am standing up for my people I supervise. We catch a lot of flack in our role at the school district managing construction. Moral of the story, being sober isn’t enough I need to work on doing things better and treating people with patience and kindness versus directness and abrasive communication. I realize it will also help my stress level and ultimately if someone disrespects me I can take the high road and shift the stress burden to them if I keep my cool and stay positive and respectful. Have a great weekend everyone!
Day 8. Yay to one week sober! Sleeping better and a lot more energy. So much that I’m feeling oddly restless. Makes me realize how much time and energy was consumed by booze. What a waste.
977 days no alcohol.
442 days no cocaine.
64 days no vape.
Didnt get to sleep until 2:30am, then didn’t wake up properly until 13:40. I binged the remaining 4 bars this afternoon. Glad they’ve gone now so I can get back on track. It has been 5 days since I ate crisps so there’s still background progress, although I’m craving them pretty bad right now.
I did one of my walks, the meditations, and some reading here. I’m too tired to watch an episode of You today now, but wanted to do my check-in before I go to sleep.
Great day today! I took @Mno to my favorite restaurant today and we had a great conversation. Then had a bit of fun teasing him when I took him to my favorite thrift shop, he’s such a sweetheart
Starting day 99. I’ve been killing it at work and got promoted, which is super rewarding and even more motivation for me on my sober journey. It’s also more pressure and it’s not as easy to be mindful of my energy levels, etc. But I can do this.
Day 38½
Been a bit since I checked in. Still sober. Got a tooth pulled the other day, Hurt a little bit when they jabbed the needle into my gum. But didn’t feel a thing after that. I fully expected (as did the dentist) that this tooth was going to shatter, requiring a lot of work. But it didn’t.
Tried to go for a hike today. I made it, but I’m really discouraged at how this fat isn’t coming off. Had an appointment with my case manager and payee. I’m going to be getting a pretty shitty allowance. I hate the fact that I have to have a payee. I’m going to take back my finances after I get some things paid off. Oh, and it turns out my landlord bumped up my rent by $60 now that I have a steady income.
Still having thoughts about drinking, but nothing too serious. Anyhoo, watching Megan now. A lot better than the crappy boring movies I’ve been seeing lately.
Nite, all!
Day 47 AF
Spending my sober Saturday morning on YouTube looking for a new chicken dish for tonight’s dinner. I love cooking, especially on weekends when I have time to immerse myself in learning spmething new.
Hope everyone is doing ok. Have a great weekend.
Hey guys checking on with 381 days. It’s been a little bit since my last post. It’s the school holidays here, so have been relaxing with the kiddos. Exercising and chilling out. It’s been nice to unplug from work, spend some time with my dog, have some sleep ins.
It’s good to catch up and read all of the posts here, much love to you all.
Closing in on 45 days AF. Kept busy today, early morning spin class, golf, housework. Heading out of town for a quick overnight tomorrow. Nice stretch of distractions to get me to another day behind me. Looking forward to looking forward to things, events, activities, as opposed to just getting by. ODAAT is both easy and unfulfilling.
Take care all!
@Dazercat thank you! You have always been a great sober buddy from my first day on here until now and hopefully many more days to come! I’m enjoying a nice milkshake to celebrate this evening after a long week!
