Checking in daily to maintain focus #54

Thank you @Soberbilly  I definitely can’t do it alone!

Bad insomnia last night but surprisingly not too tired today. Did some step one work this morning after meditation and heading to a meeting this afternoon. Really enjoyed reading the posts in this thread today - so much wisdom, strength and hope being shared :mending_heart:

Day 7. Doing okay. Other than bad allergies. Benadryl helps but knocks me out. Got a haircut. Got groceries for the week. Doing laundry. Haven’t really been having cravings. Thankful for that.

@Sunny11 congrats on quadruple digits :tada:

1006 days no alcohol.
471 days no cocaine.
93 days no vape.

I realised why I was still awake at 2am, I hadn’t taken my evening meds :man_facepalming:t2: eventually got to sleep around 4am.

It was the final of the show I’ve been watching recently last night, the person I wanted to win didn’t, but I was still happy for the winner.

After just a few hours sleep I was awake again, fed the cats and took my morning meds, tried to nap again before the Zoom with Survivors, but couldn’t, atleast I was awake for the Zoom this month though, I missed the last two. The session itself was good, there were only two of us, and the two facilitators, and we had a good discussion, it felt comforting which I really wasn’t expecting, I even turned my camera and mic on, after some initial hesitation.

I have done both walks for the first time in a few days, and my meditations.

@FeelingBetter Those roses are stunning!
@GenG You are doing great. Keep reminding yourself that there is no such thing as “just one” work on getting past those pesky urges – you are strong enough to do this. Sleep is slowly coming back for me at almost 5 months. Don’t lose hope – sleep will come. Try some mediation, warm bath at bed time, mindful body scan, a little lavender aromatherapy and or melatonin — might help with the sleep.
@TheWolf I do hope that things get better for you. Keep working on your sobriety my friend!
@anon74766472 WOW! Thank you for your post and your clarification to these questions. So I’m really curious – what did you end up doing with that dumbbell?
@Mno Thank you !!! Appreciate this post
@Butterflymoonwoman I can understand that after so long living in chaos your mind searches for it when it finally finds moments of peace. You deserve the peace and serenity my friend. Hopefully you will begin to accept this as your new normal. It will take time but it is way past due.
@CATMANCAM Glad you made your zoom meeting and joined in. Hope the walks relaxed you and will help you get some zzz’s tonight

Saturday night check in
143 days Alcohol and weed free
558 days Cigarette free
Was actually a decent day – not my normal productive but I did get 85% percent of what I set out to do today done and did not take a nap. I am not energized but not super fatigued either so hey I’ll take it  Accidentally found my brothers friends weed stash in the garage today while looking for gardening tools – HAH, the universe really does test you. I do not need it nor want to restart my clock. I doubt he even realizes that he’s left it here but it’s not mine and I will mention it to my brother so that he can find another spot for it. I’ve cut my nails, dyed my hair and taken a nice hot shower - now time to make dinner (the longer days are really messing up my time table and i really need to get back to eating by 7:30). Have a great sober night my friends.

It does, but it helps if you find healthy ways to deal with early sobriety and the emotional rollercoaster. TS is a great option. I need several. And have to change my recovery up for time to time. Glad you are here.
