Congratulations on the milestones @JazzyS amd @BrOKenWolf Well done!

Checking in on Day 17. Missed a couple of days, work has been relentless and all the end of school events. Very emotional today as it was my youngest’s last day of primary school. Life has moved on. She is ready but feels like a massive change. Prompting a lot of reminiscing which can be quite difficult.

I hope everyone has a good Friday and sober weekend.

Day 523
Today began in a bit of a funk. But it turned around. Thats one thing that i love about recovery… that i can restart my day at any point of the day

I really had to bite my tongue this morning when trying to find out the results of my sons xray. Looks like i will have to wait until next week when his Dr is back in the office. I was slightly annoyed but then turned it around and remained grateful for us even being able to get the xray so soon and to have been able to see the Dr as soon as we did (normally there is a wait). I got myself dressed, made my coffee, and then did my morning prayer which honestly made the biggest difference. Sometimes i feel like prayer is a chore and when i get exhausted or irritable, its initally the last thing i want to do. But im trying to retrain my brain to go to that first, bcuz honestly it helps so much.

Hubby is coming home from work early today so that i can run a longer errand. That way he can watch our son while i go take care of that errand. Then home to clean and relax while hubby runs some errands. Thats about it for today. Hope everyone is doing well!

Congratulations to everyone celebrating milestones today and to those that have recently come back :grinning:

1075 days no alcohol.
540 days no cocaine.
55 days no vape.
3 days no binge-eating.

Woke early, did my morning routine, read 3 chapters of the book I’m reading, did my morning walk, went to collect my meds, then did my colouring for 14mins with an audiobook on, all by 11am.

I struggled for a lack of anything to do after that. Depression ramped up, I closed my curtains at 2pm, pretended to nap with my cats, listened to some more audiobook, then managed to actually nap from 5:15-6:15pm, I was awoke by the sound the ice cream van makes, I wasnt tempted to rush outside to get one today though, pleased about that.

Ive just been for my evening walk, and now I’m here catching up. It’s great to see so many people checking-in.

Just reached 3 full days without the vape

My energy is low
I’m grumpy
Highs and lows of my mood

Ugh but if I can go 3 days without the vape I can go longer.

@JazzyS
It’s a bit stressful but I’ll be ok
I’m on auto pilot at work but I’m doing it
Thank you for your support

So impressed with your 2 walks a day, even when you aren’t necessarily feeling it. It is so tempting when the depression hits to stay inside, but you are absolutely doing the right thing.

Day 188.

Late check-in. I’m sober. Still dont feel great, but I’ve been reading a lot on here and searching recovery-related videos on the YouTube. If the way I’m feeling is a precursor to relapse, I need a refresher course in recovery and more importantly, why I’m doing this.

Good on you Amy. Be totally sure drinking or using any drug won’t help you with nothing at all. All it is is addiction’s lies. And old habits. Nothing else. Bad times happen. We work through them. That’s what Recovery is.

I do therapy. I’m beginning to love it after three years as I am truly beginning to reap the benefits. The first two years I just trusted the process. Well I didn’t trust it at all tbh but I’m stubborn and I just kept going. ODAAT. Keep going friend. Work your shit. I know you do too. X

Checking in 479 days.
It’s been a little while, just working, spending time with the family.
I have a night away with my husband tonight, a little cabin out in the woods nearby. I’m really looking forward to the time just us two, a nice fire, a few hikes. We work hard but we don’t often make time like this for ourselves but the longer we are sober, the more we are getting used to enjoying life with non alcohol related activities.
It’s really nice. We have a mini get away next weekend with the kids planned too.
Anyway, happy weekend all. Stay sober :heartpulse:

I got a bit sad at 1 year sober bc I thought “OK I’ve done my year so now what, just carry on with the same old shit”
Turns out if I keep it a day at a time the longer this goes the more amazed and excited I get.
