I woke up to this today. There’s some serious bugs going round here as well. My son’s off school today and both my appointment with my support worker and my gp appointment were cancelled today as they are both unwell. The weather is rotten too but I still managed out for my yoga and am just back from the shops with the groceries I needed. I’m going to keep cosy tonight.

@DanaM56 hey Dana…hope you are feeling better from your cold. I know the stress of taking care of the 4 dogs was getting to you - just checking in to make sure you are ok :people_hugging:
@anon68572606 how are you this morning? Were you able to get any rest?
@Hidden not pathetic at all… totally can relate to not be being able to be reliable in my drinking/ getting high days. What a great feeling to be helpful and able. Congratulations on your 76 days :+1::raised_hands:
@Jules000 wow - that’s awesome that you chose a healthy outlet…what a beautiful picture and a gorgeous smile :smiling_face_with_three_hearts:. Wishing you luck in finding a 12 step program for SH. Keep connected here - you are among friends here:people_hugging:
@Maestro way to go Marty :tada::tada::confetti_ball::partying_face: 400 days is amazing :muscle:
@Timetochange messages from kids is good start? Baby steps…I’m sure there is a lot of healing on both ends.
@Dmcg1987 great work on 22 days. :muscle::muscle: I have not yet reached out for a sponsor. I know it seems daunting - I would probably be a bit hesitant myself to reach out from unsubstantiated fear. Hopefully you can overcome the fear and ask. No harm in asking - right?
@Rockstar24777 sending you strength and patience for your day and week ahead - the work situation sounds nightmarish.
@Trixie1 way to go - 80 days and crushing it :muscle:
@Deelzebub wow…6 months is amazing Delia!! Keep going strong :muscle:. Hope your son feels better soon

I got about 4.5 hours. Struggled to sleep after waking up at 3:30 am but I feel a bit more calm today so far.

How are you?

Glad to hear you are calmer today. Hopefully you will be able to get some rest during the day.

I am well enough…still dealing with fatigue more than anything else these days… happy to be awake and alert this morning  thanks for asking.

Hey Jasmine, ty for asking
I’m feeling pretty good  Taking blood didn’t go well, I have bad veins. A great combination huh? Anxiety AND trouble getting my blood. The blood pressure monitor is on my arm and it’s going okay, just a little bit annoying. Tomorrow morning, when I return the monitor, they’ll try to draw blood again. But it wasn’t that bad tbh, as soon as I was laying it was pretty okay. It didn’t even hurt. I’ll be anxious again tomorrow but I hope not that bad like last night :crossed_fingers:

Glad you are feeling good love. UCK - i too have a hard time with finding a vein. i try to drink loads of water and no coffee before a blood draw to help and even then it is a bit of a struggle. wishing you well for tomorrow’s draw. hope the anxiety stays away or less - peace my friend. :hugs:

Day 2
Had a nice long walk with the dog and helped my dad with some chores.
Highlight of the day was buying nice tea glasses for my new DOC :frog:
Have a great day!

Hey everyone,

New day today. Did the groceries, appointments & paperwork, not to get to some cooking.

I was thinking about something so small in how we percieve others, and get all twisted up pver nothing. My mom and I both mix up hear and here, theyre and their and there. People can be very judgy about this, and really it is so silly. My mom has dyslexia, much more extreme then me and reads very slowly and has trouble spelling. Yet, she was never diagnosed, offered any help and told as a young woman she should be a secretary or teacher (womans job). She went and out herself through nursing school, and seeing how much her dyslexia wffects her I am simply amazed at how she did that and also how no one recognized it as a learning issue and treated her as dumb.

I have dyslexia but to a lesser degree. I am not a very fast reader, but I do not believe this is why things can never be directionally straight in my brain. Left is ALWAYS left and RIGHT is always right, and I will never have this automatically set in my brain. Anyway, i think the point of the story is. Why do people care so much if someone uses bad grammar or incorrect grammar?? Who the hell cares. I no longer do and in fact I make it a point not to correct myself when I use words incorrectly, BECAUSE I stand with my mom. It shouldnt matter, we all different and Im not even sure why this is what im on about today :joy:

Xo. Happy 25th hour my friends!

It’s sad but society almost as a whole is quick to pick out others defects (in their eyes) to have a sense of building themselves up. However that feeling for them is so disingenuous and is very harmful to both parties or all parties involved.

It’s hard enough dealing with our own personal negative views about ourselves, to then take on that of others.

Be strong and grounded in your footing knowing that you know who you are inside and out.

Love that Gif Mel Hell of a journey - grateful that you have stuck through it and are finding the light
Thank you for being so open and honest. We think that leaving an addiction is just that - stopping ourselves from engaging in our DOC but in reality it is so much more. WE are finding ourselves. Learning about our hearts and how to engage in our social society. Healing old wounds and finding grace for ourselves.
So grateful to be on this journey with you - Badass rockstar that you are - embrace your awesomeness!

Ugh, if it’s not one thing it’s another. My husband and I are super sick and today I feel even worse than this weekend. He seems to be on the mend but had to call off work mid morning. Seems like just a bad bad cold. Anyway, a day in bed today for sure. Can’t hardly type with how shaky my hands are. Hope tomorrow is better.

1211 days no alcohol.
676 days no cocaine.
1 year no cigarillos.
191 days no vape.

Didn’t get to sleep until 1am, but managed to sleep until 6:35am, fed the cats, took my meds, then slept again from 7:30 until 10am.

Today I drove to my hometown to collect my meds. I also finally went for my lakewalk before it got dark, so pleased I have done it, now to keep going!

In quite a bit of pain with my back, will persist with the new physio exercises and monitor it for now, the hot water bottles do help ease it a little.
