Checking in daily to maintain focus #70

Checking in on day 209 AF and Day 6 smokefree.

Not used to smelling stuff so that’s new.

Gotta have to plan around that. Bought new deodorants to smell different every day.

Been using the same stuff for years and I already can’t stand it anymore.

Mood could be better tbh. but that was completely expected.
Going to my boss next month to discuss a higher paygrade.

I am employed as a forklift driver not as an organiser. But I literally do almost everything which is exciting but also stressful.

Maybe it’s time to recognize my own worth.

That’s all for now. Gonna catch the next meeting once the moodswings have subsided somewhat.

There is being pissed off and then there is eating shards of glass and complaining about the taste. :grimacing:

Have a good evening everyone^^

F*ck, I’ve had such a bad day. Paramedics at my house, etc. Struggling so much rn :sob:

I’m sorry to hear you are struggling. Are you ok?

Glad you prevented the chains of addiction from locking you in again.

I’m not, sorry but I think this may be more appropriate for the “Seeking Help” thread… literally cannot articulate my thoughts, rn.

@SadMemeQueen How are you doing Megan?
@1in8billion Hope today is better for you friend  Glad you know what is needed to get back on track. Sending hugs and hoping that you are able to find that inner connection and be mindful :hugs:
@scorpn What a wonderful birthday present! Hope the week gets easier for you! Glad you are already cutting down with the cigs – will hopefully make the quit date that much easier  :hugs:
@just_laura Shut the front door! WHOA! That is some next level cosmic shit! Glad that you found the prize and are able to redeem it and more happy to know that there was no catch. I totally would have tossed it out LOL – never again!
@goku2019 Are you home now? Were they able to figure out what caused the abdominal pains? Hope you are recovering and not in any pain / discomfort
@seb that is great news and I’m happy that your anxiety is reducing. Yes – do still discuss with the doctor / surgeon about your returning to the gym and the intensity of the workouts. Breathe easier my friend. So relived with this news and will continue to send healing energy your way! :hugs:
@frank68 Man I know that milestones (especially the ones we don”t care to celebrate) can be rough. Glad you had your meetings and support system in place to get you through it. That’s great recovery! A new tea eh? Love golden finds like that – enjoy :yum:
@brokenwolf OMG Richard. That is a LOT going on. Hope your wife and son’s surgeries go smoothly and that they recover quickly without any pain. Your co-worker is %$&%$& I just don’t even have words! WTF! How is that acceptable or legal or??? Not that we can turn back time now – I do hope that you are free and clear of this.  Hope the viral infection goes away quickly too! Sending healing energy your way to you and yours! Be well my friend :people_hugging:
@dilettante So good to see you on the check in thread. Grateful you did not give into the addict way of dealing with life. You are stronger for facing it sober and head on. Remember that you are not alone and you are a badass! :muscle: ODAAT Kiki :hugs:
@bomdhil Day 6 is amazing and its early on so you may need to rest. Our bodies / minds go through a ton in the early days and resting allows us to heal and regenerate. It also helps us calm our inner chaos. Remember to stay connected and take care of you. Don’t let that addict mind have a voice and keep pushing forward. The roughness now will pass – you will see the calmness and wonder that sobriety has to offer – just keep stacking up the days Thomas :hugs: :muscle:

@wahtisnormal WOWZERS – that is awesome girl. Check you out :muscle: Gaining endurance and closing in on 200 days! That is amazing. HAPPY BELATED BIRTHDAY! :birthday: :tada:  I ditched my fitbit as it died after the 1 year mark just like the last one before it (surprised yours is still working after a year) and went for my Garmin which I’ve now had for over 3 years. Love the Garmin. It is a lot more user friendly and I think even more accurate and I loved that mine was water proof so I could swim with it. Have fun with it!
@noshame HAPPY BELATED BIRTHDAY! :birthday: :tada:  Hope you had a great day celebrating your special day!
@positivethoughts Sending energy your way. Sorry for the crazy days – hope you are able to find time to chillax and regen those cells soon :hugs:
@timetochange WHOOHOO 16 months is awesome! Hope you enjoy your relaxing time! :tada: :tada:

I like that and wish you luck in having that discussion with your boss. Congratulations on your days :muscle: I too loved when my senses started to return – what crazy grey world did we live in with our addictions.
@newbeginning1 Great to see you posting and on day 2! It does get better – just keep stacking up the days ODAAT! :muscle:
@lile01 OH NO – what’s going on? Why are the paramedics there? Sending you hugs and comfort. Hope you are ok Indi :people_hugging: We are here for you here or on the seeking help threads… you are not alone! Hope you throw away whatever is left and are safe at the moment

Checking in on Thursday evening
So very tired. Been a whirwind of a day and I’m surprised that I survived. Grateful that I did not think about drinking or smoking (was too damn busy to think of anything actually LOL). Grateful to be in bed and hoping to be knocked out soon. Sipping on some calming tea and catching up here as I slowly wind down.
Wishing everyone a wonderful addiction free day / evening - sending you all so much love

Finally a good night at work :raised_hands: (monetarily speaking). October/November are always slow, but I’ve been scheduled for so many lame lunch shifts that what I made tonight is what I made all last week! It’ll pick up again from Thanksgiving on tho

Idk if it’s my time of the month coming, but I haven’t been feeling the best. Not in a sick way, but having some mild(annoying) digestive issues, alot more muscle tension/pain, and it feels like that migraine I stopped short of becoming full blown on Sunday has been looming in the background ever since. Going to try to get to bed earlier than usual and hope that helps :crossed_fingers: From a sobriety standpoint, all’s been good. Keeping pretty steady there. Looking at this screen is starting to get to me so I think I’ll finish up my movie and head to bed. Hope you all have a good one

60 Days Sober. Still rocking and rolling. This semester is still kicking my ass though. Currently pulling an all nighter. :smiling_face_with_tear: Anyways, cheers my sober fam. I’ll check back in soon!

Good luck on the all-nighter, @HakeemOsman, can’t say I miss those uni days!

Thanks man! It’s kicking my ass but I have to keep all A’s because I’m planning on going to law school once I’m finished and they’re so elitist that anything below a 3.70 is considered terrible basically.

@JazzyS @CATMANCAM @SoberWalker @acromouse Thank you for your replies.

The acupuncturist may have irritated a muscle. I got some meds. I’ve been dealing with some sharp pain in my stomach. Hopefully, it’ll go away soon. So that’s the end of acupuncture for me. I guess I have no choice but to go with the epidural steriod injection for my lower back. Gotta call the specialist and set up an appointment. My back has been killing me. Shit sucks.

I felt drained yesterday. Didn’t get a chance to check in. But I’ve been home. Work and busy with the kids.

Didn’t do much today. Watched the movie War of the Worlds for the first time with my eldest. I’m not sure how I missed that movie back in 05. Pretty good. We liked it.

My little man always comes home with a story about school. He’s catching on. He’s learning fast. I’m proud of the little dude.

Day 1104 AF.

ODAAT. Take care, fam.
