Checking in daily to maintain focus #70

I get this. My husband plays racquetball with a couple of other senior men and 1 older lady. Sometimes they get so upset over something stupid and walk and leave. Last week I got drug into the drama because I made a comment about (I thought funny) the play. IT IS A GAME PEOPLE!

203 days sober
Been a busy day trying to take care of this mouse problem. Trying to shut the house down and kill all the mice. Frustrating problem!
On another note I went on a walk today and had the thought ‘I could use a drink later’. I immediately said outloud ‘that’s nonsense and it’s the last thing I need’. It was just a brief and passing thought but I was proud for how quickly I stopped it.

Still feeling pretty crappy but not as bad as yesterday. I havent lost my voice yet which is good (I usually lose it when im sick) but it is strained. Im just out running a couple errands that have to be done today. Then home to relax. Try ans get a bit more sleep or something. Have a great day everyone!

While I’m general not in favour of special cat breeds (just like with dogs), there are cat breeds that produce less of the stuff people typically are allergic too. Then again, I feel there’s not that many special breeds available where you live. And they’re expensive, as I typically think a cat should come free, or with an added litter box, toys, crate… A Siberian sounds close to you though… Anyway, here’s an article on it.

Well, you don’t really have to have the cats inside the house itself. I imagine you live in a rural setting from what you’ve shared.
I used to live on my grandparents’ farm for quite a while, and I am also very much allergic to cats. The cats were never allowed inside the house. They were fed outside the house, usually in the animal area (shed, barn, sty, etc.).
They don’t even have to be on your farm. Depending on how far the farms are away from each other, the neighbours could have the cats. The point is, when there are cats - especially female ones - in the area and they start hunting, the mice will just leave, as they can smell the cats and are obviously afraid for their lives. Cats will also often keep away other animals like ferrets, marten, etc.
The worst winter we had, was that one without cats. The mice infestation was just insane. They destroyed all kinds of fabrics, ate all the suplies, and make all kind of ruckus during the nights.

Checking in, about to start a late lunch break.
Haven’t had any time to myself to relax or chill for the last 10 days or so. Feeling a bit strained, and drained. My wife is in the same boat.
Going to stick with only one coffee today, as the last couple of weeks I got jacked on caffeine to get through the days, and paid the price.
My only relief these days is quality time spent with my daughter.
Going to push through on my own to get through the day and upcoming evening. It’s all on me. :muscle:t2:

Checking in day 19. Worked in the day and then a friend came round in the eve to cook dinner. Nice chilled evening. Had a little chat about my drinking & going sober. Felt good to talk to someone I trust about things openly and honestly. Will chill for a bit now then do the washing up and then go to bed. Not working tomorrow so looking forward to a lazy morning :slightly_smiling_face:. Glad to be sober. Happy Thursday everyone :sunflower:
