Day 992
Morning TS! Managed to get thru last nights overnight shift with ease. My son slept well. Im tired of course this morning but i had to get some odds n ends from the grocery store, so i already did that. Not much else happening right now. Going to try and take it easy for the morning while I have alone time. My son comes home at around 1pm from school, so i want to shower n eat before then. Have a great day everyone!

Checking in. Yay, it’s Friday! I was really looking forward to giving out candy during trick or treating last night. About halfway through the day, i started feeling sick again. By evening, i was running a fever, had a sore throat, headache, the works. I went anyway, but stayed in the background so i didn’t spread any germs around. Still had a good time. Today, i feel even worse. I had an early morning meeting and a couple other appointments i couldn’t get out of. Ive taken a lot of cold medicine and I’m hoping i can get through the rest of the day. I was sick last week, felt better for a few days, now im sick again. Ugh!! I had planned to do a couple fun things over the weekend. Hopefully i still can. If not, i guess there’s lots of football to watch while laying on the couch.
Hope everyone has a great sober weekend :purple_heart:

@joyce19 Day 5 is brilliant! The cravings and thoughts are normal (especially so early on). This is where you remind yourself why you are on this journey. Remember the crappy feeling of how alcohol makes you feel. By Christmas you will have a substantial amount of time under your belt and tools to help you through the holiday season. Keep pushing through  :hugs:
@sadmemequeen Some love and hugs my friend. I am so very sorry for the lack of support you are receiving at home. Know that you are loved and cared for here and I do hope that you are able to find real life support to help you through the hard times. I do love that your therapist is taking you seriously and will be helping you find support. How is your day going today? You are sweet to be worrying about your parents and your friends need for sleep but when you are hurting so immensely, please put yourself first. A good friend would be by your side to do whatever is needed when you are in need :hugs:  Some great links and support posted here. Much love to you dear friend. You are in my thoughts and I do wish you comfort and healing.
@mno Sending hugs your way. Hope today went well for you. I’m sure it was a day full of emotions. We are here for you if you need :hugs:
@acromouse Thanks friend. The costume didn’t stay on too long as I was having issues in it but it was fun to attempt. Hope you and your daughter enjoyed the Halloween. Today sounds like a wonderful relaxing day!
@seizetheday WOW Hannah – that is incredible! Way to go with your 10 months :muscle:  Keep up with the great momentum :tada:
@mrmoustache That is so good to hear David. Keep living your best sober life. :muscle:
@zse So lovely to see you smiling and great to hear that you enjoyed your sober birthday! Another milestone in the books :muscle: Cake looks amazing – hope you enjoyed it :yum:
@twizzlers Lovely to see you checking in friend. Hope your MH/ PTSD improves. Sending hugs and love. We are always here for you :hugs:

i got no sleep so my emotions are still pretty intense. the criss evaluator is supposed to call me today so what happens kind of depends on that

No sleep really does mess with emotional and mental health. I am sorry! Are you able to try and nap?

I do hope the crisis evaluator calls you soon. Are you able to reach out to them if they haven’t called by a certain time?

You are not alone my friend. Remember that you are loved and cared for. I am very sorry that you are not getting this in your own home from you family members.

@laner Great to hear that you are doing better. I can understand how frustrating it can be to not know what the triggers are so that you can work to avoid them. You have come a long way and I see you putting in some great effort / energy into your recovery – keep at it friend. I do hope it all gets easier.
@scaredmol Oh I’m sorry friend – that’s gotta be scary. Do you have someone by you to monitor your symptoms and make sure you don’t fall asleep. Have you had it looked at professionally? Hoping for a better day ahead.
@shel75 So sorry to hear that you are sick and feeling so down. Glad you still managed to have a good time last night. Hope you are able to rest and recover quickly – sending healthy vibes your way

Checking in on Friday afternoon
Been a rough start and I’m just barely moving. Feel like a zombie but not cause I can feel all the pains (assuming the zombies don’t feel a thing LOL)
Have had a few good cries and screams into the void. Will continue to push through as I do have some shit to get done.

Wishing everyone a wonderful addiction free day - sending you all so much love

I’m anxious so I don’t know a nap is possible. Idk how to contact the person I saw yesterday but I can call the clinic if need be. I’m undecided on what i want. i recognize I most likely need a hospital but I have 7 appointments next week I’ve been waiting months for. I don’t want to miss those.

I’ll be ok, I hit my head late Tuesday night so I think I’m mostly ok, now, just a little woozy. Probably the epic hangover didn’t help! Let’s hope it’s my last

Returned to work today, winter and autumn bring out the misery in me so I’ll keep it minimal for now.

Other than that I’m doing good.
See you around^^

Even f you just lay down and rest your eyes that may be helpful to relax (maybe play something soothing in the background)? I can imagine it is hard to nap with feeling anxiety.

That is stressful to want to keep the appointments and not be able to get the help you need right now with hospital. Is it possible to see if they will let you leave for the appointments and still be at the hospital the other portion  Hoping you are able to find some support and answers soon.

Hi there! My first reply/check in at this community and on day 2 of being sober.
I have a gambling addiction and thought I could stop myself, but everytime I relapse after a couple of days. It sucks, I feel like shit and I’m full of shame. I’m motivated to do what it takes to stop this stupid addiction and stay sober.

Welcome Millie!

I don’t know where you are in the world, but here in the U.K. if you email any online gaming company you have an account with (or fill in their form) and ask them to block you because you are an addict then they will.

I totally get you on releasing the emotional bagage through movement first. This is also my first choice.
But I had a few longer episodes in my life, where due to health reasons I could not do any exercise at all. Or at least not on a level that would work in that capacity. So I had to find a different way to ‘vent’. Meditation takes much longer than exercise, but sometimes it is the only tool available.
Anyways: To better times
