Today has still had a holiday feel. I had an early morning doing chores and cleaning. Then in the afternoon I was needed to translate for some tourists who came through. They wanted to learn more about the history and culture of here.

Today one of the tourists asked me how I learned such good Englishā€‹:joy::rofl: I had a good laugh and told that Iā€™m an American and English is my native language but I was flattered to be mistaken for a local. This was several hours into our time together so I felt encouraged at how much Iā€™ve adapted.

@lighter hope you got some decent sleep last night  Glad you are enjoying your job and working on finding that balance to not overwork yourself. Painting birds sounds lovely and relaxing.
@chance Great to see you checking in and with such a beautiful message / post! Great work on all your day ones stacked up :muscle: Thank you for leading the way!
@juli1 WAY TO GO! Glad you were able to get out of your comfort zone and get to the gym ā€“ great that you enjoyed your experience! Love seeing you thrive in sobriety Jules ā€“ you are crushing it :muscle:
@just_laura That is interesting and thanks for sharing. Some days the less sleep is great and others not so much ā€¦ always a balancing act LOL ā€“ no way is it anything as bad as when I was actively drinking
@butterflymoonwoman WOOHOO! You kickass woman you ā€“ great work on your quadruple digits 200w (2)Dana. You should be super proud of yourself and celebrate your amazing achievement :tada: Excited to see what the surprise is

 Iā€™m sorry that you are feeling such despair. We are here for you my friend. :hugs: YOU ARE NOT ALONE!
hands-reach-out Reach out at any time  The weekends are rough when we have more idle time. Are you able to fill your day with ā€œkeeping busyā€ activities? Can you shower yourself with some self care and love today?

Checking in on Saturday morning - I have deliberately put my bedding into the wash so that I have to move about. Today is not an easy start but Iā€™m determined to make the most of it.

Wishing everyone a wonderful addiction free day - sending you all so much love!

Checking in. My friend sends me stupid messages while heā€™s drinking. Letā€™s see if heā€™s so keen to send me messages tomorrow morning.

This day has been a good day. No cravings. Iā€™ve been reading and watching tv series. Just chilling.

Checking in after several days off of here. I am very sad and depressed, but I had a good therapy session yesterday and am 3 days back on my supplemental antidepressant that had lapsed. So itā€™s just a matter of time until I feel better. Meanwhile I am taking tiny consistent steps in the direction I need to go to get things done for work and at home so that is good. Iā€™ve agreed to part ways with a consulting job that was too much for the amount of free time that I have to work on it, so that is also good. I worked a lot in therapy yesterday on negative self talk and that needs to be a no-go zone for me. Hope everyone has a beautiful and sober day today.

Day 16. Heading out for the night as designated driver which Iā€™m happy with.

My wife asked me if I would be drinking tomorrow when we have friends over and was pleasantly surprised when I said that I would not.

Huge congratulations, Dana. Quadruplets :sunflower::smiling_face: so many days. I donā€™t know why but I still remember you being triggered biweekly on payday. Look how far you have come. I hope you have a good day with your family later.

Checking in! :wave:t2:
Today I had a productive work day, but I ā€œclosed the chiringuitoā€ at 2:30 pm, and decided to recover some extra hours!
Iā€™ve just finished a workout and took a shower! Despite that weā€™re in November already, Iā€™ve sweated my butt off! All over feeling very calm. My weekend starts here!

This brought back a memory, thank you. I purchased this pink stretchy bracelet and every time something I said was negative you had to switch to the other wrist. It really sounds stupid but being aware of every word out of your mouth is a good thing. I think my record was 4 days without switching wrists. No complaining is a super challenge. Since AA and sobriety teaches you to accept events as they are challenge may not be as difficult. I hate when I am bitching because I am aware of the negativity I produce. I donā€™t want that. Positive Polly thatā€™s me.

I just love your post. Yes I want what you have. Hey new folks I know we say one day at a time but you can hope and work hard for a sober future. I want 9 months (I get to be in Hawaii for that) I want a year sober and canā€™t wait to share with you all here. I want a thousand days! I can do it and so can you. No shit it takes work, probably the hardest work I have ever done but the rewards are real and happening every day.
