@Girlinterrupted
Get rid of the partner and never take another one unless it is absolutely right. One thing I’ve learned in this life is that I am overly giving and everyone else just takes; period. My motto is " The masses are asses ". I’ve gotten to where I see that fake friendship crap coming even before it starts. Drop it, move on, and never look back!!!

Agreed! Pure anxiety and panic over the actual conversation. I’ve already made up my mind, now I just have to get it over with. I need to wait for this deal I’m working on to close first. Anxiety is through the roof yo :confounded:

Day 27.54

Woke up early and walked for coffee. Came home and immediately started my cycling challenge (otherwise I would have chickened out). It was two brutal 1 hour sessions back to back. 2 hours of brutality!! :crazy_face: :stuck_out_tongue_winking_eye: Showered and ate lunch now chores to do.

106 and 66. Feel very low, emotionally drained, everything seems to be catching up with me at the moment. I want to drink so badly or just At least get stoned, it’s what I do, just a little time out but nothing would change, it won’t bring anyone back or give me any more energy to carry on. So this is life, this is what “normal” folk have to put up with, nowhere to run and hide, no mental off switch. So I’m sober, great!!!

Day 20 soon.
First three weeks seemed to went on like a charm and I don’t see myself relapsing.
Not, when lifestyle is full of productive activities like working out and reading books :ok_hand::blush:

Day 1. Second check-in…

Was a little depressed while watching Netflix and started reading step 1, 2 and 3 again. Used the telephone list from the meetings, and now I’m calm. Now it’s time for some meditation and preparing my stuff for work tomorrow. Good evening

I was never much of a fan of ‘adulting’, but this ‘normal’ adulting thing is a bit of a (female) dog sometimes.

Sending you big hugs :hugs::kissing_heart:

Thanks @GVLNative and well done on your days :+1:.
3 weeks no drinking or smoking. It feels good writing this today.
I must change my new Sunday hobby though, all afternoon spent watching true crime on television :thinking: . Oh dear I’m getting old before my time. It’s still better than being in the pub all day though.
Enjoy the rest of your Sunday peeps. :raising_hand_man:

hang in there, try to keep your mind busy, your meditation will be good for that right now, your gonna have a lot of fresh thoughts to put into perspective. Once we clean out the inside we show it on the outside. Be strong.

If you don’t mind my asking, how has your son dealt with that memory? How old was he when it happened?

Checking in on Day 208. Lots of Rainbow Six Siege, took the dog for a walk, since we’re having a heat wave today… nothing else crazy going on. Ready to get back in the gym tomorrow, as I’m finally feeling as close to 100% as I can be.

Have a strong day!!!

He was 7/8 years old when it happened. And he’s someone that really holds onto memories and kinda relives them over and over in his mind. After it happened he would be really upset over something seemingly out of no where… Like his reaction to a situation didn’t really match. He doesn’t open up very easily, so usually I have to create space for him to express himself. Once he felt comfortable he would usually tell me why he was so upset and sometimes it was because he was thinking about that one night. These are the times I would talk about my sobriety and I would list the ways I was changing to reassure him that that situation wouldn’t happen again. I apologized every time and asked if he would let me know every time the thought came to mind and he was sad about it. He hasn’t brought it up in a year maybe. So I was a little hesitant to put it back in his mind. But I kept it light and positive, emphasizing on the amount of time and all the good that’s happened since. He’s almost 11 (next month).
