Hey all, checking in on day 2224. I hope everybody has a good one!
Thank you, my friend.
Just a simple procedure. Should be able to work the next day.
@Techno_Tequila Well done on your 1 week! That is some great work
I hear that perfectionist talk and am familiar with how crippling it can be. You have to have everything just right or why even bother. Life is messy. It would be crazy to think we can always have everything fit neatly and be presented perfectly. In trying to do so we end up hurting ourselves. This was one of my great lessons in sobriety. We love seeing the avatar pop up and seeing your count. It is completely ok to be posting the same activities every day. I understand not wanting to check in daily but as long as you are working your program, engaging with the thread and members then you are still active and around. Its when we move away from our tools and only use them when āin needā that we are in trouble. Cause by then its already too late.
@Mno OOH My - what a precious pic - I want to be sleeping like this
Thank you so much friend.
Hope you enjoy your dinner date.
@apes2020 I am currently in the US - Michigan. The smoke from the wildfires is currently affecting at least 20 states in the US.
@Jesile Hope today goes smoothly at work - it does suck when you have to pick up other peopleās crap on top of your own daily work load. Grateful its Friday and you have 2 gym classes to look forward to ![]()
@MrMoustache It is good to see you posting. UGH that addict brain is such a prick. I am grateful t see you back and pushing through - No weed is the only way to go. You have stacked up some great time before and can do so again!
OH NO ā wishing you the best of luck as you deal with that excess energy and hyper mania ![]()
@Christophe Grateful you were able to get yourself out of the rut and come back to work on day 1. A solo 7 day hike? That can be challenging while detoxing I would think. Please make sure to have access to water as you will need to be hydrated.
@ceejayboi Oh that is good news. Wishing you well with the procedure ![]()
Checking in on Friday morning
My hands swelling is decreasing a bit. I can see where my knuckles would be
The fog is thick - so deceptive as it looks like the perfect day to enjoy a walk outdoors. The campfire smell is intense and brings you back to reality.
Managed to get about 6 hours of sleep. I am immensely grateful for that - although I feel just as drained and tired as when i went to sleep. I am hoping to go to the gym and then work and home - no extra stops today. Still feeling all the feels / symptoms and I know the swim will help with some of that.
I am grateful for my space to just enjoy the peace and quiet.
Wishing everyone a wonderful addiction free day - sending you all so much love

Just a sister in the Boston area.
Checking in with all timers intact and 1 week free from binge eating and disordered eating.
The fucking heat traps me indoor, even the dog refuses to go outside.
Besides suffering from heat all is fine.

I am on Day 4 of quitting weed @MrMoustache. I feel ya and we got this! ![]()
Day 838 AF
Day 4 WF
My mood is definitely improving since quitting weed. I love telling myself āI am SOBER, not just what they call Cali soberā All of you on here that remind us how great total sobriety feels has really been helping me stay focused so thank you for sharing.
Congrats for 4 days! Oh yes, we got this! I was 5 months without weed, but then I thought I can smoke one joint, no worries. But that was addict brain thinking and now I have terrible cravings because it feels too good to be high. But thatās just escaping and numbing my feelings and emotions, I donāt want that anymore. Sober way is the only way.
Have you had any cravings?
Day 18
At work and extremely tired. Nitro kept waking me every hour during the night and was so restless. Did all the duties of a pet owner and he still wouldnāt sleep properly. I have work at my other job this weekend as well I am hoping to get a decent sleep tonight. Everything is working out as planned and I couldnāt be happier about this new journey I am about to go on.
I have been repeating things to my best friend about how if I lose people along the way its not a big deal ( meaning her). I canāt handle part time friendships. Plus we never spend time together. Its a text based relationship. I donāt need that.
Slowly learning and dealing with things that come along the way
Hope everyone has a great sober day
I have for sure but they donāt last very long. I have been weed free for very long stretches (years even) over the years but always go back.
At this stage of life (late middle age), I want to quit it all for good. I truly donāt miss alcohol and know that with time and work I will get there with weed.

Sounds good. Iāve also been in the past without weed for years, but I have always come back to smoking. But no more. Iām 46 years old and I donāt wanna be hooked in weed in this stage of life. I wanna enjoy my life being sober and Iām determined to do so without weed and alcohol. One day at a time. We got this, my friend!
Checking in. I should have a year. But I have 8 hours and 20 minutes. SLIP = sobriety lost its priority. Starting over, starting wiser. It doesnāt get any better out there.
@Dazercat Iām pretty sure we are to blame for New Englands smoke issues
. I noticed when checking the map of the fires you guys have quite a few going on down on that side of the border as well. There is currently some here in most provinces but these ones in North western Ontario are completely out of control at the moment. Hopefully the rain they are calling for tomorrow can help a bit with the current efforts. Luckily we are all safe here except for terrible air quality.
@JazzyS sorry you guys are dealing with this crappy Smokey air there too. It really is starting to feel like the whole world is burning these daysā¦
You came here first, checked in and owned it. Recovery isnāt an easy journey but you have the tools and you have been putting in the work. Donāt let this slip turn into multiple days. Learn from it, get back up and start fresh. We are all here for you. ![]()
Thanks. I got some crummy medical news, and just had a big F-it. One glass, but still, Iām still an alcoholic. Canāt play, had to confess and redouble. I was getting lazy, missing days here, and in my irl groups. Thanks for your message.
Yes thatās the plan. Think about taking care of myself and what I can do to contribute to that. Today was napping in front of crime reality TV ![]()
Have a great 24ā![]()
- Today I ate my favourite pizza (learning to eat freely)
- I watched tv crime docs (learning to relax)
- Iām going to bed early
