Crocheters, Knitters, Crafters, and the like 2020 to present

I’ve now had 3 crochet lessons. I’m loving it but I’m not doing so much yet. Yesterday I learned how to make circles and I SUCK at it!! It’s hard. But I’m still going. I’m practicing stuff using all the yarns I inherited from my mom. Mostly it’s crappy acrylic stuff. If I get good enough I’m going to invest in some GOOD cotton yarns and start making stuff!! I have a pattern for an African Flower square that I can’t wait to try and do.

I started with a big giant hook. It helped me see the stitches and make stuff quick. Then I fine tuned from there. I recently just started holding it comfortably so make sure you pay attention to that before you get in a bad habit!

It’s so cute! I want one.

Beautiful…love it…I’ll take one after Mel…lol…love the clours

Any suggestions on how to learn knitting. YouTube videos etc?

There are lots and lots of YouTube tutorials out there! I think you just need to search “learn to knit” and pick one and if that one doesn’t suit you, try a different one. I frequently use YouTube for techniques I need a refresher on how to do. It often involves lots of pausing and rewinding :joy: I hope you give it a try!!!

Crocheted a plastic bag holder to clear up all the plastic bags I had hidden under my sink. :stuck_out_tongue_winking_eye:

hey there,
I’m interested!! such a great idea. i’ve been doing a lot of adult coloring and embroidery stitching! i’m on the same boat where it helps me to stay sober too. normally i’d just watch tv and take shots every hour but now keeping the fingers moving also keeps my brain sane. not stopping anytime soon!

Done! I found it very easy to follow, I just paused the video and rewound it if she went to fast for me.

My latest! I haven’t graduated from scarves yet …I have some super soft yarn for the next one. This one is heavy, will be good in very cold weather.
