Day 3: My main motivations!

Gonna list my main reason for going sober, as a way to document and motivate myself to not lose focus on why I’m abstaining!

The main reason: my partner and I are planning to get engaged later this year, and will probably marry sometime next year, if things go smoothly :heart:

I wanna feel good in that wedding dress! So I desperately want to get my weight back to where I was pre-drinking. I’m usually average or just below average bmi and have been for 28+ years so imagine my surprise and disappointment (in my self) when I gained quite a lot of weight in only a few months, and just CAN’T seem to get it back down by traditional means like diet and mild exercise.

My conclusion: I’ll have to stop drinking to get my weight back under control!

Having a goal like this really helps me, because it’s important to me and my self esteem to lose that belly weight, so that I can feel confident with my partner again ;w; cus as of right now I feel very insecure and can’t fit most of my clothes.

(Background info: my partner lives in another country and we travel to meet four or more times a year. He can’t come here to move in with me yet, until we’re closer to getting married, cus of visa stuff! EU/UK couple here, 2+ yrs :heart:)

I love him so much, I’m always honest with him and he’s my biggest support in all this, so I can’t wait to gain my confidence back, so that our relationship will improve again!
