Going up London Taaaan on Friday to meet my sponsor for the first timeā¦ Weāve been in contact through WhatsApp since last March. Iām excited . Going to a face to face meeting too (havenāt been to face to face since just before lockdown started)(been doing meetings online since last March too)

Whereās home for you is London a long way away. My sponsor is about 5 hours away and weāve never met in real life but for me personally it just helped me so much being held accountable by someone else. irelevant of working a program or not I can promise you that the only reason I was able to stay sober some days was the humiliation of having to tell him Iāve drunk.

Hmmmmmm. I see a lot of conversations where people are connecting with each other but they donāt get derailed!. I donāt wanna judge the judger tho

Yes, there are many. Please keep in mind that moderators do not read all the threads. When we DO read a thread that has been derailed or someone brings it to our attention, then we do move items. If it is a small derailment and goes back on track itself, then we let sit. A fine line, I know!!
****Also, I did take out the political discussion here, in the spirit of the no politics rule.

I think it helps when people start messaging each other instead of replying back and forth on a thread (though I know Iāve been guilty of that, too). I think people sometimes forget that itās a great option available to keep a side conversation going if they want to.

I agree 100% Rosa. And we all are guilty of having side conversations in a thread. Remembering to move it to a PM is a great suggestion!!!

Exactly, Sassy and Rosa. I just happened to see one.
Even well-meaning or helpful conversations shouldnāt take threads off the OPās track.
Again, not a big deal and usually not even flagged (unless itās hostile). But we may shift posts as a reminder and to keep threads tidy.
