Derek, you ASSUME that, you do NOT know someone’s intent. Frankly, this formenting of dissent and bad feelings toward another member because you believe they are insincere is very off putting. You say he is a troll, yet you troll him.

This isn’t their thread. His comment though directed at Jan, was making fun of people who struggle to brush their teeth or tie their shoes. Not sure what other intent can be drawn from that. Especially looking over his body of work and previous joke about “nerds in high school” I think it’s fairly clear what his intent was.

As addressed in Robin’s announcement about politics, just for fun topics about cute kittens are not really analogous to huge geopolitical and social struggles.
If you want space to discuss these things, your options are
- Do it in a private message here
- Do it somewhere else
- Set up your own forum
- Engage constructively with the moderation team as set out in the rules and guidelines
We all sign up to the guidelines to participate here. If you choose not to abide by them, that is your choice. But don’t put it on me or the other mods.
That’s all I have to say on the matter.

As explained above, all of those anouncements regarding politics, stand or fall depending on yóur opinion on whether something is political or personal. And decision making isn’t magic, mistakes have been made, are made and will continu to be made. Just like now.

We do. As do I. However I do not sign up to your interpretation of those rules.
As said above, this entire discussion is about whether this is politics or not, and according to the regulations, whether it is related to your sobriety or not.
Since I know it is not political and it ís related to my sobriety and those of others, I am not opposing these regulations. Just your interpretation of it, which contradicts mine.
And that’s all I have to say regarding your “explanation”.

I almost don’t dare commenting here. What I feel atm is resistance. It took me some time to absorb the idea of the anti politics rules. When also the memes thread was cleared of political memes. And I don’t want to get involved into a discussion. It’s just a reflection on how I approach things often. The more I try to convince people of my opinion the more resistance I encounter. Might be that they are not there yet, might be that it’s not their focus. Might be that they have other problems in their life. I say, yeah I understand: buuuuuuut you have to… And I keep insisting. Well, in the end that’s also how I approached/ended my relationships. 
So, as a silent reader I learn a lot for which I am grateful for.

This is great. Thank you for the laugh. I just learnt that my insulinpump is no longer on the market. I have this model over 10 years now and have Bluetooth problems. And I don’t want to change the model because the choices are toooo many. Like everywhere there are too many options. Leaving me like 
I don’t want to decide.
