DIY Home Projects

Oh very cool. I’m from Tucson. Moved out to Florida about 8 years ago.

The one thing I miss more than anything is Los Betos. 24 hour burrito shops just unfortunately aren’t a thing out here.

Finally made a start on the camper. First stop. A bed :joy: made out of wood I found in a skip next door and an old futon base I had knocking around. Used a YouTube vid for guidance. Happy with the result :+1:

Not sure if “DIY” in the usual sense, but I’m really pleased with how my new office setup turned out. Always wanted to try a grid-type thing like this. Doing what I can to build an apartment that I love.

Plumbing behind the scenes is never pretty, but you did a great job! And it’s good that you found the leak or you would’ve been tearing into it again. :stuck_out_tongue_closed_eyes:

I have been making some little projects with my dad. He is in his mid 70’s, it’s a super nice way to spend time together AND I get custom stuff!!!

Scott I love the lemon juice torch trick… it looks like my favorite stain color. I will have to try it some time…

Yes post a picture of the actual dresser and an illustration of what you want to achieve, or some pitcure of what you’re trying to create. It’s a much easier job when you have a picture or “template” to work with ya know

The pocket hole jig is a beautiful little thing, pretty strong joints, quick and easy. Not as strong as a dowel or domino but it works like a champ

Really love these! You made them with your dad, no? I think I read that somewhere. Maybe it’s the dad thing that I also loved extra much here. But the design is really pleasing to the eye I think! :ok_hand::ok_hand:

Redid the TV wall, removed paneling, added an outlet below and 2 behind the tv, new drywall, pipe hardware for 2x12 shelves… might go to hidden hardware after we sit with it but only if we don’t like it. TV mounted on wall now, got wire management going on so no more wires… Just waiting on a couple more pipe mounts for 1 more shelf to be added.

Made a couple quick barn doors for my mom’s pantry. Simple 2x4 with a recessed back lip and a bead board trimmed to fit in. Little glue, couple brads. Ready for a sand, caulk and paint. Not bad for about an hour of dicking around in the carport.

This is an awesome idea! Barn doors are so expensive! Where are you getting the hardware from?
