OK who is doing this, this year? My first year dealing with the naughty little shite, got a few ideas but maybe we could share.
Today the magical elf house appeared with footprints and a letter. Elf cam is put up too,
You really are making cool memories for your children. Traditions are important imo. I never could get fired up about the elf tho. It looks devious to me lol… a scary elf …
I’m actually glad as hell to be finally done with the elf. You have created a nightmare for yourself. I can’t count the number of times I woke up at 2 am crying out “shit, I forgot the goddam elf again”.
Our elf never got into shenanigans though. She just moved…and sometimes changed her outfit.
Most of our ideas came from Pinterest. This will be our 3rd year doing it, starting tomorrow Dec. 1st. It’s a lot of fun for the kids, but to be honest I’m dreading it this year… I’ll have to look harder for new ideas… some take a lot of work and are very messy.
Ugh, I have to start this tomorrow too lol. The gift I will FOREVER thank my mother for…maybe he will visit her house a few days too lol. The smallest is SO looking forward to his return but I have a hard to remembering and getting appropriate/easy ideas lol.
This year no elf. Soon-to-be 12 year old informed her mother that she knows Santa is her parents, and mommy moved the elf. The elf “jingles” once followed us to Iceland for Christmas.
My six year old asked how much was the elf camera,he’s not stupid he already caught us out with the tooth fairy, he found his brothers teeth in a trinket box,now I look like a crazy bone collector haha !!
I don’t know if that ever caught on here…I NEVER did it. But I heard of US friends who did (or send in cupcakes for all the kids). I always would figure that that would be a no-no incase of food allergies.
Or they would go into school and have lunch with their kid. Sheesh. The school day is my time AWAY from my kid. We’ll have a birthday dinner that night.
What have you called your elves? I should have gone with something cool like Spartacus, instead in my Brain freeze moment it ended up being called Elfie , oh how original lol
@VSue Imho, parents that take cake or cupcakes to school do that so they don’t have to throw a bday party at their own house. Our schools wouldn’t allow it.
