Good on you man! I realised the only way to improve in bread making is to begin  Failure bums me out too but so what? Better skill next time :v:t2: I hope you have good first experiences. Please keep us posted here how itā€™s panning out for you.

Bread tip.
I watched your video. Going to try my first loaf Thursday or Friday. I also watched a video very very similar to the one you sent me. But this person lined the cooking pot for the oven with parchment paper v before she put the dough in.
Parchment paper? Yes? or not necessary?

Good question!

If youā€™re heating the pot in an oven before putting your dough in (and yes, the pot should be screaming hot), Iā€™d only spread oil thinly to the pot sides and bottom AFTER the pot comes out from pre-heating. Iā€™ve never tried that Glenā€™s recipe using parchment paper. I see no need for it if you use a bit of oil.

However, parchment paper is really handy, like when youā€™re making bread rolls on an oven tray or some other type of bread dough that is really sticky/ moist. Usually that type of dough needs to be scooped out of a bowl rather than formed/ rolled by hand on a counter. Again, different countries and individuals have different takes on parchment paper.

See what works for you and your kitchen equipment. Great that you have courage to try out something new! All the best!

Yummy :yum: :yum:

Mahi-Mahi and Tuscan Herb Sauce

Nice! Iā€™ve never had mahi-mahi. Whatā€™s on the broccolini, onions?

Ya some kind of can dried onions. Blacken Mahi Mahi is the best. Wifey is too wimpy for blackened. Itā€™s cooks up fast and if you over do it like I did last night :grimacing: it gets a little tough and chewy. But still good. Iā€™ve actually come to realize pan frying my fish taste the best. And is actually the easies. Just light a Yankee Candle so the house donā€™t smell like fish.

Sounds like halibutā€¦ similar taste?

Ya. I find it easier to cook than Halibut. Texture is just a bit different. Not in a bad way. And cheaper. I love a good Halibut but I always screw it up. Havenā€™t tried pan frying a Halibut yet. Next time. Pan frying fish is sill kind of new to me. Never liked the stink in the house. Iā€™m gone sixty now and I donā€™t care. Like I said light a candle.
