Awwww! Look at you experiencing the American way! Is that a lobster roll? It looks so good!
I am all about everything in that dish!
Weāll call this Garden Pie. Plant based crumbles and vegan gravy. I got permission to add the cheese at the end.
Broccoli, Bacon, Swiss, and mixed cheddar jack cheese, and onion omelette. With leftover sourdough toast.
Yes they got some bacon @Olivia
Haha! Paw patrol is out to arrest some BACON!
@Hailstrom I think you posted recently some stuffed portobello mushrooms. Can I ask what you stuffed them with? They looked delicious. Iāve only stuffed regular white mushrooms but bought portobello the other day for first time
Ah yes, I used mozzarella and sundried tomatoes. Really good. But you can used any cheese pretty much, as long as it melts. I often just do them with cheese. Perfect as a veggie burger too
Thanks! Sounds yummy. Iāll give it a go.
When I do my stuffed white mushrooms, Iād sautĆ© diced strips of bacon until crispy then set aside. Then a bit of bacon grease to sautĆ© the chopped stems. Then Iād mix with cream cheese, often add in some green onion or chives, stuff and add some shredded cheese on top. The bacon made them so yummy Thought of trying that with these but donāt have the stems.
I might try these big guys with some smoked cheese. Thanks for the inspiration!
Yum, sounds great! Bit more work than what I do. I tend to break the stems up into pieces and put them inside, then just put the cheese on top. I donāt even bother using a knife
Smoked cheese would be perfect
Foodies I need some advice on thisā¦ I am planning on making this nice beef stew, but this needs wine quite a lot actualyā¦
Ofcourse Iam not getting drunk from it when I am eating it but its still alcohol.
But I never thought about this before, and have quite alot recipes whitch needs some sort of alcoholā¦
Can I just buy a small bottle of wine and pour it in the pan or is this not a good ideaā¦
Nice! I love beetroot. But amaranth I havenāt seen that in ages. Not really common over here.
But I like your combo!
I could not personally. I know the alcohol cooks out but I wouldnāt trust myself to get rid of the rest. Iām sure you know yourself well enough to know if you could resist. Are substitutions an option? Iāve never cooked with wine
I would only buy just enough for the stew I can trust my self on that. But Iām more concerned about the little bit of alcohol thatās still left in the dish, and my brain is gonne react on it.
I think I will leave it out just in case.
If youāre worried about it. Having it in the house or not being able to throw it away? Of course donāt buy it. Personally I have no trouble cooking with booze in food. Iām a cook and Iām not changing my recipes for my cooking. And I feel very strong and Iām not tempted whatsoever. But thereās always booze, especially wine, in my house because of the wife. So I donāt actually have to go to the store and purchase a bottle for a recipe. So that could be different. How about the dealcholized red wine. My wife has been buying that recently. They got some decent ones out there.
Another thing. Sorry. Iām so long winded. Just trying to help. My biggest problem cooking and drinking was the ritual of drinking while I was cooking and most of my recipes donāt call for booze. And I donāt do that anymore.
Thanks for your answer. Itās not long winded at all.
I have never Alcohol in my house Because I can not handle it. I think I should leave it like that.
I live alone, so there is nobody who is checking if Iām using the wine for cooking like at your place.
I tried none alcoholic wine, but this is not good for cooking and for me it is like a overpriced Grape juice
I was wondering about that I bet for some reason Iām unaware itās just not the same.
What are you making? Beef bourguignon?
I was just googling wine substitutes for that. Lots of options. I love a good Beef bourguignon but my wife doesnāt care for it . Can you believe. Now Iām hungry.
Yes tomorrow I am gonna make beef bourguignon.
How can somebody not like this dish
Wine is aged and has deep rich flavours which it makes good for cooking, for cooking only I never liked drinking wine. The process they use for removing the alcohol out of the wine also removes alot of flavour.
So for cooking nah!
Iam gonna make a real strong stock and try this instead of the wine.
I let you now if it was niceā¦ so you get hungry again
Maybe add something with a bit of acid/fruitiness that the wine might add to the recipe.
