Weā€™ll call this Garden Pie. Plant based crumbles and vegan gravy. I got permission to add the cheese at the end. :slight_smile:

@Hailstrom I think you posted recently some stuffed portobello mushrooms. Can I ask what you stuffed them with? They looked delicious. Iā€™ve only stuffed regular white mushrooms but bought portobello the other day for first time :yum:

Ah yes, I used mozzarella and sundried tomatoes. Really good. But you can used any cheese pretty much, as long as it melts. I often just do them with cheese. Perfect as a veggie burger too :+1:

Thanks! Sounds yummy. Iā€™ll give it a go.

When I do my stuffed white mushrooms, Iā€™d sautĆ© diced strips of bacon until crispy then set aside. Then a bit of bacon grease to sautĆ© the chopped stems. Then Iā€™d mix with cream cheese, often add in some green onion or chives, stuff and add some shredded cheese on top. The bacon made them so yummy :laughing:Thought of trying that with these but donā€™t have the stems.
I might try these big guys with some smoked cheese. Thanks for the inspiration!

Yum, sounds great! Bit more work than what I do. I tend to break the stems up into pieces and put them inside, then just put the cheese on top. I donā€™t even bother using a knife :grin:

Smoked cheese would be perfect :+1:

Foodies I need some advice on thisā€¦ I am planning on making this nice beef stew, but this needs wine quite a lot actualyā€¦
Ofcourse Iam not getting drunk from it when I am eating it but its still alcohol.
But I never thought about this before, and have quite alot recipes whitch needs some sort of alcoholā€¦
Can I just buy a small bottle of wine and pour it in the pan or is this not a good ideaā€¦ :thinking::confused::upside_down_face:

Nice! I love beetroot. But amaranth I havenā€™t seen that in ages. Not really common over here.
But I like your combo!

I could not personally. I know the alcohol cooks out but I wouldnā€™t trust myself to get rid of the rest. Iā€™m sure you know yourself well enough to know if you could resist. Are substitutions an option? Iā€™ve never cooked with wine

I would only buy just enough for the stew I can trust my self on that. But Iā€™m more concerned about the little bit of alcohol thatā€™s still left in the dish,and my brain is gonne react on it.
I think I will leave it out just in case.

If youā€™re worried about it. Having it in the house or not being able to throw it away? Of course donā€™t buy it. Personally I have no trouble cooking with booze in food. Iā€™m a cook and Iā€™m not changing my recipes for my cooking. And I feel very strong and Iā€™m not tempted whatsoever. But thereā€™s always booze, especially wine, in my house because of the wife. So I donā€™t actually have to go to the store and purchase a bottle for a recipe. So that could be different. How about the dealcholized red wine. My wife has been buying that recently. They got some decent ones out there.

Another thing. Sorry. Iā€™m so long winded. Just trying to help. My biggest problem cooking and drinking was the ritual of drinking while I was cooking and most of my recipes donā€™t call for booze. And I donā€™t do that anymore.

Thanks for your answer. Itā€™s not long winded at all.:pray:
I have never Alcohol in my house Because I can not handle it. I think I should leave it like that.
I live alone, so there is nobody who is checking if Iā€™m using the wine for cooking like at your place.:blush:

I tried none alcoholic wine, but this is not good for cooking and for me it is like a overpriced Grape juice :grin:

I was wondering about that :thinking: I bet for some reason Iā€™m unaware itā€™s just not the same.

What are you making? Beef bourguignon?
I was just googling wine substitutes for that. Lots of options. I love a good Beef bourguignon but my wife doesnā€™t care for it :scream:. Can you believe. Now Iā€™m hungry.
:pray:t2::heart:

Yes tomorrow I am gonna make beef bourguignon.
How can somebody not like this dish :scream::flushed:
Wine is aged and has deep rich flavours which it makes good for cooking, for cooking only I never liked drinking wine. The process they use for removing the alcohol out of the wine also removes alot of flavour.
So for cooking nah!
Iam gonna make a real strong stock and try this instead of the wine.
I let you now if it was niceā€¦ so you get hungry again :rofl:
:v:t2::blue_heart:

Maybe add something with a bit of acid/fruitiness that the wine might add to the recipe.
