Haha, yeah I only gave him a rationed amount to work with
I’ve not tried one. I might need to!

You can’t eat just one… They get lonely in your stomach.
You need to eat at least two so they can keep each other company.

Comfort food for a cold, rainy day, and a grumpy, hormonal lady. I hope I can shake this feeling off tomorrow, but my guy and I made it work with a box of mac and cheese, frozen boca veggie crumbles, some broccoli, diced tomatoes, seasonings and other whatnots.

Key Lime Frosties in all their glory. The ones with the raspberry pieces on top have a raspberry in the middle.

They are always worth the time, but they do take a lot of time and effort. Lots of zesting. The cookie itself isn’t very sweet, but the glaze is sweet and tart.

I’m more impressed with you Mise en place than your salad. Very professional. My, Mine en place is all in my head and it’s a mess in there.

I was thinking the same wen I read my post

Mise an place is routine for me… I worked for 20 years as a Chef french cuisine. I had to change my job to get out of my alcoholic comfort zone.

But I still love cooking. :star_struck:

Make Mise an place list before you start cooking. Believe me it works!

I can tell you did something like that.

I was a restaurant pro but all aspects from the front of the house. If I filled in as a line cook which I had to do plenty of times it looked like a bomb went off. But I got the job done.

Tough business to stay clean and sober in. Some how God watched over me and got me through it. Great probably tough decision for you to change jobs. Good for you.

"Looked like a bom went off":joy::joy::joy:

It is a though business to stay sober. Always around alcohol lots of stress long hours and lots of opportunities to drink during your shift.
You did well :ok_hand:t2:

Now I am a train driver, this really changed/saved my life in a positive way

Train driver? Very cool. Probably ought to be sober ALL the time for that right.
Again. Good for you getting out of that business. We always said we’ll sleep when we’re dead. Never thought at the time I could be killing my self. I did 2 very long stints in 24 hour restaurants as GM. I never knew when my shift was going to be over if someone didn’t show up. It’s a brutal business for the ones who work it seriously.

This right here. Restaurant work is a horse of another color. Usually black. A black horse. Because it’s death.

Mise en place is life! @ShadowFax @Dazercat I remember when I realized my Mami had taught me the way without me knowing where it came from because my Abuelito (grandpa) was a sous chef in several of the famous casinos in Las Vegas in the 70s and 80s. Good training for me!

Oh those long shifts… where terrible… the alcohol kept me going.
