Foodies Unite #4 (trigger warning food) DON'T GO BACON MY HEART!

That sounds yummy! I have smoothie supplies in my freezer and pantry but I find it difficult to tolerate in the winter cold. Maybe I can start doing smoothies for lunch though…

I started making them because for some reason I was having trouble eating all my fresh fruit before it went bad, so I started freezing them before they were too far gone. But it is also pretty warm where I live- even in the winter. I can understand not wanting them when it’s cold and snowy out :snowflake:

You and @Salty have inspired me to get bagels and lox soon

That’s why I love the Daily Harvest. I don’t have to make time. Getting pretty lazy in my old age :older_man:. Ya it probably cost more. But it’s so worth it since I’m the only one having smoothies in my house. And it’s the only way I get my fruit.

Good stuff you got there.

I woke up craving comfort food. I didn’t eat dinner because my stomach has been bothering me.

Yum, vegan for the kid. I added pork to mine.

BLTs two ways. My guy’s was traditional with mayo and mustard but with avocado as well. I wanted more veg and less bacon and bread, so one slice of sourdough, open faced with hummus, mustard, avocado, red onion, and spinach as well as romaine.

Just a big salad with edamame added because I’m obsessed with it right now

Question for the foodies!

What is the one kitchen appliance/device can you NOT live without?

  • Cast iron skillet
  • Dutch oven
  • Crockpot/Slow cooker
  • Barbecue
  • Kitchenaide
  • Other

I question how a BBQ is a kitchen appliance, especially a charcoal one, but I use one more than any other appliance on that list.
What I really can’t live without is a good sharp knife and a large chopping board.

You know the old aphorism, home is where the heart is? To me, the Kitchen is like that.

The “Kitchen” encompasses any space where food is prepared. Whether in the physical kitchen space within your home, your patio/deck, campground or drivers seat of your car.

Also, was gonna add knives to the list, but I didn’t. I failed.

I agree with @AyBee on the knife and butcher block/cutting board, but I decided to vote based on what choices you offered on your list and ignore the “other” option. I waffled (he he) between the BBQ and Dutch oven, but my love of soups and stews and the ability to sear and cook meats in a Dutch oven tipped the scale for me.

See, I was gonna add it, but I figured that everyone has a knife, so it’s like a gimme.

I couldn’t live without my knifes either, but life without my Dutch oven is a life I’d rather not live!
